Intercooler piping question?

I own a front mount intercooler and I was told the 3inch 90 degree bends(which are made out of silicon rubber) flex when under boost and crimp when I back of the boost and was told to go aluminum.
Has anyone else heard of this?

I don't think the better quality silicone hoses would, as long as you keep the lengths pretty short.
Don't drink drive, it's washing powder!
