No matter what car you drive on your P's you will be pulled over... Stick by the laws and just get yourself a car that is not turbocharged... Just remember no matter what your always learning on the roads even when you have been driving for a long time... It comes down to common sense on the roads... But most forget that and goes out the drivers window once they get behind the wheel of a car when they are on there own... No matter if your young or old...

Want to learn how to control your car etc go do some driving courses it does help...

fun times

.. anyway, i work at a petrol station on a main'ish intersection.. every 15-20 minutes a vl or vn rips a burnout, once a day one looses it, every couple of weeks on crashes, commordoors are the hoons choice of car i personaly think... thats y they r targeted..

if u illegaly drive a merc for example, the chances r u wont get pulled over, if u drive a vl turbo, u will be targeted

thats true. the main reaosn they "randomly" pull vl's over is because in the off chance, they are hoping that they have been stolen and because they are a highly defective car.

i thought it was as of july 2008 no p platers can drive turbos? ah well, in the end, its not worth the risk!

You could buy a P-plater friendly car and modify that. Honda Civic with a B18 will look stock and still be a pretty fast car.

i agree with guys above... get a shmick n/a, get another motor and build it up to what you want ready to drop in when you get off your P's... Not saying your a **** driver or anything but ive seen to many mates behind turbo's and v8's write cars off not long after getting there P's... get expericence first with just cruising around

I'm dealing wit the same problems to, want to get a vl for p's. I'm defiantly getin it. Cops arn't exactly the best at knowing there cars. My mates, mate got pulled over by a cop and he asked if why the car was making a dose he said he bought the car like that and they let him go. ANother time another mate got pulled over who has a passenger who was drunk they asked to see the does pipe and inter cooler, so the drunk goes 'its in the back man'. The cops yell ALRIGHT OPEN THE BOOT! lol so many dont even no what a turbo is, but still doesn't mean u won't get caught. Also the turbo can be hidden...

technically a VL turbo is under the 125kw per tonnes limit arnt they? another way u can get round the law is if your family only owns "high powered cars" my old man drives a HZ with a 308 and i cant drive it but because its the only "family car" i can use it so when i bought my VL turbo its another family car so i can get away with it, ive used that excuse heaps of times on coppers and it worked.lol. or maybe it was the same copper who thought the turbo was in the boot...............

L Platers can drive ANYTHING they want
ASLONG as it is the ONLY car in the family IF it is high powered
so say you have a VE GTS and a V6 Omega, you SHOULD be driving the Omega....
but if the Omega was in getting serviced or something, you would be allowed to drive the GTS ONLY while the Omega isnt on the road

i think thats right...
someone correct me if its not
