I wasnt going to paint it just to save money but thought id kick myself if it looked below par when it gets on the road its just bein respayed in the original alpine white only in 2pac.
It also helped that my mate and his dad opened there own panel shop and are giving me a good price.

some more parts collected

New rear disc (just Standard) rebuilt calipers and 3.45 turbo diff open center

Bit of a update ive decided to go 2jz in my vl some people hate it cross breeding so to speak but **** it it just works out perfect for what i want.
The way i look at it i want 400rwhp so i have to build my rb30 to handle that which will set me back 6K then turbo manifolds etc thats 9K at least.

I can get my 2jz for 3K doesnt need to built to make that power single turbo conversion motor bolted in for 6K
any way thats whats happining now going engine shopping tomorrow
cheers Luke

wtf ???

Dont man, seriously!

What about the box on a 2Z? X-members? Engineering? Wiring?
Think your math is a bit out!

Stick with the RB30. You dont need crazy manifolds, the factory ones have run 10's!

400rwhp/300rwkw isnt that hard to get these days out of a RB30, maybe speak to Maatouks?

ive done the math. i want a auto so the price of a built box is the same, x members i can make myself there easy, both engines need engineering in nsw cause mine is not a original turbo vl so no difference there, both engines need aftermarket ecu so wiring is the same.

the differences i can get a 2jz motor and box for 2800 -3000 and have the single turbo conversion done with big turbo sitting in the car ready to be wired up before ive even built the rb30 and it will make 450+rwhp on pump fuel

Well now i feel silly im sticking with the rb30 after speaking with anth at maatouks racing he convinced me and he will now be building my engine sorting my gearbox etc.
Since talking to him he told me to collect some parts 1 is a vlt oil pump which i got already thru mrsquigle the other a vlt auto that suits rebuild which im still hunting for.

I have now fitted the vlt diff with brand new brake disc and calipers along with shortened kyb shocks and superlow king springs.
I have also painted my fuel tank and straps and refitted it.
Pics up soon
cheers Luke

some pics of diff and new suspension installed.

new ride height in rear end

cheers luke

Good to see you stuck with the RB30, it will pay off in the end, way less hassles.

Thats a nice looking bit of gear. Thought about hiding your brake lines at all? Are you going to paint your cooler black to keep the sleeper theme?

As much as that would keep it sleeper, I love the polished cooler look.

Yeah man if you were in Vic I could give you the guys number who does them, costs under $150 and he comes to you. Runs the lines through the guard under the car with a join under the cross member in case you ever need to take out the front end.

Check out how STOWLN's run
