Thats where the rubber bump stop lands. In the pic you can see a hole in the lower control arm where the bump stop rubber goes. They all have em. If you mean the quality welds...well I reckon this one was built on a a friday. the factory welding was absolutly crap. big lumps and dags, one weld missed where it was meant to be by 10mm. Dont worry I sorted it all out.

Ah yeah, I see what you mean, without knowing that it looks like a massive crack!

Neat looking chassis though, what is the brownish ute for?

Looks good.
CRS make sumps and mounts to suit this conversion. Keep updating as you go as I'm interested to see its progress.

Quick update: I have bought the 25head and inlet runners, new haltech ecu, etc. So the new setup will be as above plus:
rb25/30 engine with forged bottom end
850cc injectors
Haltech e6x
full custom rewire inc 6 LS1 coils running waste spark
stock runner with a custom plenum
custom alloy sump (when I get the tig)

The next parts will be a clutch that can handle the power
a custom tail shaft
and a new diff centre with a minispool

The plan is to have it on the road by xmas. Money permitting.

I would have wrecked that tonner out lol, that was rough...

Also, that's probably the smallest intercooler I've seen. I know you've done it to fit behind the standard grille but is it going to affect the efficiency?

Yeah it was rough, but it had never been molested and the only rust was in the floor pan. It had 192 000 miles on it, 1 owner who died of old age. and it was cheap.

Yeah that intercooler was only meant for a stock vlt. Ill have to look into that. It ll prob be ok for the t04 but when the 25 head goes on ill prob up that to a 35/40.
Thanks for the input.

If he wants to keep the ugly commercial front, yes... if its the Kingswood grille then no.

Unfortunately, Ive only got a HZ single head light front end atm. When I find a pair of HQ guards Ill convert it back. No comercial front, they look terrible. I can find a cooler same height and depth but wider that will still fit.

updates... I got a Haltech E6X and assosiated wiring ready to go. I bought a twin cam head, paid for it and never revieved it from a theif who is on this site. And now Im waiting for more money to get back to work on it. Might have lined up a guy to do all the body and paint at the right price, Ive built an extension on the workshop just for the ol tonner while being worked on... end of update.
