a rear "3.OL" badge in place of the turbo badge

Guys, another idea ive come up with is to create a 3.OL badge for the rear black garnish/mould that is on the bootlid in place of or next to the turbo badge.

Acquire a calais 5.0 badge, and an LE badge of the same size.
Cut-out/snap-off all the letters from the badges very carefully not to break the plastic. Turn the E letter upside down to get a 3. Place next to it the .O characters. Lastly place the L at the end of the other characters to reveal a Calais style 3.OL badge.

Find some sort of adhesive that will stick the letters together and that black spongy stickons for the black garnish.
Mine turned out ok but it still doesn't meet my perfect standards. I was thinking of getting it duplicated by professionals. If you want more info let me know and ill find out for ya.

If youve come up with this idea already, give yourself a pat on the back.

Some ppl have removed their turbo badges altogether, Ive even replaced mine with just the electronic injection that just comes out on the NAs. Have a look at my car on calaisturbo.com.

Just something different for the debadged turbo cars out there...

My mate has "3.0" badge on the boot of his VL Berlina, he reckons it came from the factory like that. *****ed if i know. But i have never seen one on a VL before.
But like turboluke said they were on the r31, so someone probably just put the badge on before he bought it
Looks different though.

VKs never had a 3.0L badge, they didnt even come with a 3.0L engine. Only a 3.3L and badge wise they only had an EI badge. My 2c worth.

did vks have a 3.6 as well (or VH's?) - but I think what ex-static was getting at is that you just get the "3".

(ther was no 3.6L holden engine, or nissan, that came out in vks or vhs) yeah, but vks never had their engine size displayed on the outside apart from the 5.0Ls. All the 6s had was CALAIS EI on the back and vhs just had slx or sle etc on the back. Sorry, just that i used to have an efi 6 vk calais and my bro used to have a vh sle 6.
Ah, who cares...!

My VL has the 3-0 ltr badge on the right side of the bootlid next to the "SL" badge (Reads "3-0 SL") The 3ltr badge on my VL looks exactly the same as the skyline one in the pic above. And Im pretty sure that it is factory fitted because it appears to have been on there for the same amount of time as the other badges

The NZ spec cars had a 3.0L badge on them to distinguish them from the 2.0L models.

Just locate a bootlid strip from a VL Calais 5.0 and slap it on the back of your VL Calais Turbo to spin people out when you take off

Corsa, what do you mean by the 3.OL badge on the NZ cars. were they designed the same way as a CALAIS badge on the boot of the car?

I can get a 3.0 badge new from Holden (if anyone wants one $15), all V.L models in NZ apart from the Calais and Royale had either 2.0 / 3.0 / 5.0
I have a 2.0 badge on my boot for a laugh

Did you guys have the Royale over there? they were spec'd exactly like the Calais, but didnt have the calais eyelids, but did have the calais grill.

nup HSVSUX we dont have the royale over here. but that sounds fairly ugly, i've seen commodores with the calais grill, and it personaly didn't do any thing for me.

We actually did have the Commodore Royal or Royale years ago.

It was a 'limited edition' VH 4 cylinder and all of them were fitted with personal number plates that had the ER prefix ( Elizabeth Regina, the Queen). They were horrible and all were painted in Royale Blue.
