Don't forget to add shipping + taxes to that total. I think its about 15% in taxes alone.
And the Australian dollar is not doing you any favours.

What happens if something goes wrong ? Send back to the states? Going to honour warranty and what would the turn around be?

Support AUSSIE owned companys if possible

Yeah Chief355 i know that dollar doesnt seem to be helping atm
and its understandable but like i said its price that attracts the eye lets say a "Local " shop quotes you 4k for a glide and you can purchase one with the same internal components etc for half of that wouldnt that tempt you ? not even a little bit lol ?
to be honest If something did go wrong i wouldnt bother sending it back id rather get it repaired here lets face it performance and warranty dont usually go toegther quite well things do let go but im sure theres something written in the fine print regarding whats covered and what isnt .

Problem is Aussie company's are so high in labour prices and the whole tranny is expensive.
Try Neal's transmissions in the states, their bracket glide @ $1399 has been proven to be tuff even running a 8.9 in a vl.
American dollar is abit low atm so you wouldn't buy one in a hurry as the dollar will drop more!
but when the dollar is good go for it it would cost you around 1700-2000 posted when in Australia that would cost you 3000-4000

Hey mate, I have friends that all bought their transmissions (including stalls) from COAN and they haven't missed a beat.
Both the transmission and the stall converters are flawless.
But after shipping, taxes etc, it almost works out the same or a touch cheaper.
The problem is you don't really have the assistance if something went wrong with it. But like I said, all of them were flawless.

Exactly my point ! the prices we pay for such things in Aus is really my main put off
8.9 ! so its been proven im not even wanting to go anywhere near that
Ive heard of neals before il look into it further

I would be a bit hesitant with getting a stall from the u.s only because if adjustments need to be made to suit your setup its a big turnaround time but its good to hear that both stall and trans were top notch
shipping is a killer in general its where you draw the line and ask yourself is it worth it
il definately have to look more into the shipping side of things and see if theres other cheaper options or ways to get to Aus without losing a leg over pricing

And we all wonder why local industry is going down the tubes.
Keep your own country working,I don't blame you if it is really cheap,But what about the hassel of it all.Is it really worth it?

Cheers Marty

I bought mine through Fast Lane, which is a US built glide that gets adapted here to suit an RB30. Rated to 850hp, transbraked, depe pan sump, BTR turbo style shaft $2800. I fitted it and had a small leak from the adapter, which they are happy to fix under warranty.

I got a ProTrans glide with TCE stall.
Unreal trans.
Run after run after run after run.
Transbrakes on the street and track and still no worries.
Pay the money once and do it right through someone reputable.

It's just the way our country works that sees jobs go off shore - when housing is over 400,000.00

As for the Aussie economic vote...
It's not this guys fault that work goes off shore. It's called globalisation. It's a policy that has seen this and most country's go down hill while China and similar places reap the rewards.

Blame our government, capitalism, and lack of Australian self interest for our demise. Not this guy who's doing his best to live the Australian dream while his country pays him **** and taxes his wage then taxes him on every thing he buys.

Current tax on liquid fuel/L .386
Tax rate @.32C:$1
Fuel @ 1.40/L

To buy 100L of fuel you must earn $205 before tax of which you will pay($65 tax)
Then minus fuel excise of $38.60
Bringing taxed amount to $103.60 of the original $205
This is a very basic estimate but you get the idea.

It's a great country we live in but is a hard country to thrive in.
