in dash tv/dvd player options

hay all just chasin some help.
im thinkin bout gettin a tv/dvd in dash unit, just wanted to know if people with them in there vl have had any problems with the screen hitting up against the air vents, which makes the screen tilt down. iv heared about this before. just dont wanna purchase one and then find out when i come to install it that its no good to me.
what units are u guys using? any help would be great.

yea thought about that ay. not to keen on it.
if its not going to work out, i was thinkin maybe mount a screen down where the sunglasses holder is and just put a dvd head unit in up top?

mount one on the flat panel above the vents, get one that has a mounting hinge so you can fold it up and down... if you get wat i mean?

I spose its too much too ask if anyone has anypics of a combo unit installed in their vl? i'm gonna import a couple soon for me and a mate, and i never even knew of this vent hitting thing.

some of them dont hit, iv just heared stories about some hitting, the problem with importing them is they somtimes wont play australian dvds, due to the differant region settings in the units. so just make sure u know what ur gettin before u buy em.

and yea pics would be good people if anyone has any

the alpine range dont hit....JET-30L used to have one in his old calais and it didnt hit,stick with the alpine range and you should be sweet,there a slim line unit nowadays anyways.

kool il have to check em out, any idea what price range is on the alpine ones.
i was gonna get a pioneer or clarion touch screen one. but yea not sure

Hehe, that's why I import region free units. I've already got a DVD head unit in my missus car (got it xmas before last). I dont get em from retail joints, but straight from the factory (and can sometimes be the same factory that makes the stuff for the bigger brands).
