Did Gas win in their class?

How did Pac go?

Congrats to Godzilla, only a handful of passes under their belts and they managed to take the into the 6.60's @ over 210mph.

The Gas Celica has put things back into perspective as to why people opt to go 2J.

Ausrotary.com members trying to stake a claim Pac ran a 6.44 to try numb the feeling that the 2JZ has just further moved away from the WANKels...

Nothing worse than a disgruntled rotor head.

Clearly you weren't at Jambo.

The rotor is far from dead.

Lol, not one car got out of the hole until the last round of qualifying on Saturday arvo. Sunday was much better, there was wheels up racing all day from the likes of GH, and then pb's and wr's all arvo

my rear end is still as the factory designed it in 1989 and i got mine to sixty foot just fine, even on little 28x9's.

i was logging air temp, humidty, track temp and tyre temp on every pass and the third qualifier when mod 10.5 went out was only 3 degrees cooler then the 2nd qualifier and the track temp was still reading around 43 to 47 degrees each pass.

i think the part of the issue on saturday was tyre temp, if you did a massive burnout then your tyre temp went through the roof and they got greasy, or if the tyres were sitting in the sun you had the potential for one tyre to be almost 35 degrees hotter then the one in the shade. on a cold sydney day a big burnout is going to work in your favour.

big george only did a little burnout on pass 3 on satuday and went quick.

i have only recently started logging all of this stuff and there are trends starting to appear.

end of the day it was a fun weekend, congrats to big george on the win in mod 10.5

shane

Is Mark Jacobsen on the forum? I know he frequents the SAU forum.

Gas run a world record and these clowns are seeking that Jambo becomes a rotor only event.

lol i would dare say if jamboree became a rotor only event the sales would rapidly decline and it would be its demise.

wont happen imo.

^^

On the contrary, they believe if it is a rotor only event entrants and spectators would OVER populate the event.

well just let them have there four and rotary jamboree and then have a seperate jamboree for all types of sixes and non turbo and turbo eights im sure with all the turbo v8s and 2js and rb etc it would crap all over there rotary event.

Yeah VG30! lol.

Jambo is never going to become rotor only, it would be suicide for the event...Sure there is a massive following from the Rotary fans, but the event is more than that now, sport compact is a far bigger forum now for Ray Box to ever step backwards and exclude the 2J'z, RB's, VQ's, 4G's and EFI V8's (which are only going to become more competitive and more popular with the amount of EFI turbo V8's now)...

I say the event is perfect, if anything, **** the bikes off, they have no place at Jambo...

And the track did seem fairly average on Saturday morning but keep in mind, it absolutely pissed down on Friday so it was always gonna soak up some of the moisture.

Good event all in all... Nice to see a mate run a couple of 10's and a couple of 9's un-teched/licensed before getting booted lol.
