ok guys didnt have a very good day today the track is very slipery and well traction there was none. i wont say my times there to embarasing . there wasnt alot to take away from today and build on all my time slips are very different so i guess i need more practice and heaps more traction. first run was done on the 18s and that ended in alot of wheelspin. i then put some slicks on that i had borrowed i think they were prety old and the best of the rubber was gone. the car almost ended in the wall several times it just wouldnt go straight very very lucky it didnt end that way. i latter found that the tyre pressure gauge was faulty and there wasnt enough pressure in them causing the rear end to move violently side to side at high speed. most of the runs ended with me coasting across the line and the throttle was only at about half way and on and off constantly trying to find some grip. the day ended with the clutch being stuffed but yeah very happy with how the engine performed no problems there and 1sikvl id love to see any pics or videos if you have any
.

thanks man for the pics.
yeah had 6 runs could of had one more as got through the first round due to the other guy jumping the start and then breaking out but the cluch was gone and i still had to get it back home.
funny story put the slicks on the back they were quite tight fitting onto the hub when i went to take them off so i could drive home couldnt get them off there seized on solid tryed allsorts to get them off but couldnt so had to drive all the way home with them on

If they haven't VHTeed the drag strip in a while it's as slippery as buggery. We ran some cars down there a while back for work, our 0-100s were over a second better starting from half way down the strip!

yeah prety much apart from when they have the 4 and rotary drags its better they must actually prep the track but even then the aussie guys say the part where you take off is grippy but the rest is crap

Guys the Track for the winter drags are not prepped at all, I have personally been involved with track prep at meremere and during the season the track is sprayed all the way with VHT and rubbered too, I know what it feels like to turn up at the track and have heaps of horsepower and think the car is going to run 11 sec 1/4 mile times straight away. but in reality its just not like that.
The best things you can take away from your time at the track last weekend is this:
- you now have done it and can only get better and faster
- What were your reaction times and 60 foot times? improve these and your ET will improve hugely
- What slicks you using? if they were a full drag slick then you should have also had front runner tyres on the front
-every part of your vechile needs to work at 100% to have a great run, so if the clutch is slipping then you on the back foot.

Mate when it all comes together and you have a great trouble free run you cant beat the feeling, it will happen for you in time.

Cheers Kris
