Gtr N1 Oil Pump

Need advice, just bought the above oil pump and am told i need to use a JUN Oil Pump Drive Sleeve to fit to the crank to drive the pump!!
Has anyone fitted these pumps before and can it be done on the car or the block be pulled down yet again??
Thanx

While i have not fitted one myself, i hear that you need to use the JUN adaptor. Oil pump is easy to do on the car, just take all the aircon/radiator/front bar off so you can get a good view of what your doing and take your time.

I think the adapter is rather expensive, but from what i've heard (and dont quote me) the R32 GTR pumps do fit, but later gtr models need the adaptor on the rb30 block

"R33 RB26 oil pumps will not directly bolt up to the crank without a $600 JUN crank collar."

Sourced that from a PDF I have... Current as of the 29th of July 2005

youre better off having the crank collar for that added safety and reliability

pro engines make their own and weld them to the crank. i think their collars are around $150 plus fitment. its not a thing to do for the sake of it as in a GTR its an engine out job and is only normally done when a rebuild is being undertaken

depends on what crank you have. im not sure about the rb30 crank but the later GTR cranks have a longer nose to drive the oil pump and thus the collar is not needed.

Mine bolted straight on, but a collar would be a good idea for safety
would defintily do it for a twin cam
cheers

you need the collar so u dont snap the gears just get ur crank welded up wich is even better and cheaper at around 400 the collars can slip if not installed 100% correct
