New cam need new lifters??

Hey all doing my Vl build for the second time round and want to do it right this time around so recently got my new head and will be using a brand new cam and have herd that new lifters is a must to reduce wear on the new lobes, I previously ran a wade regrind cam with existing lifters and have had no problem over four years of verly limited use maybe 2, 500kms .
BUT as I said I want to do it once and do it right so new lifters or not ??
Did a search found nothing thanks in advance
