Had mine for about 8 months now (8th VL) driven it a total of 2 ks in that time
![]() Spend 80% of my free time doing bits and peaces to it, when im not working on the new business or working 12 hour shifts. Worked on it 4 hours ago extended loom and fuse box in glove box. Started by moving the battery to the boot and one thing lead to another lol When it gets tough or i read a tech article that states "its a 2 hour job" "piss easy" and im on my second day i just remember this. A good job is not done fast A fast job is not done good The way i see it its a hobby more than a car. Weather it be electrical, wiring, mechanical, modification, experimentation, customization. I cant see my self getting board with any of these things. In the same way females will never get over make up n hair styles and sell all there dresses.

I've at least one vl ever since 1999, Y2k in a nice vl, first child and house with 2 vls until 2007 and since 2008 I've had several in stock, these days it's driving one or two occasionally on the weekend or just working on them.
Can't everyday drive them anymore.... Police defects, possible accidents, theft, break downs make driving one a pain. But I still get a kick. I've got a an sl, a berlina, and a Calais.... All with their own quirks and demons. Good to give one a drive every now and then to a cheap thrill.

Still got my Calais Turbo - Illusiv. Had it for going on 15 years now. She runs, just needs the battery to be charged, a new clamp for the throttle body to hold the intake pipe in and the fuel filter to be put back. Tyres are rooted due to flat spots. Drove her about a year ago.
Walky is good, took her out about 2 months ago. Just needs a battery. Had the walky for 8 years now. Bloody hell, time flies.....

Still got mine and have been slowly finishing off getting everything put back together. Still running a Toyota 1UZ but all the electrics have changed.
Fired it up on the new PCM the other day .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=4m9Po7u24YQ Uses a VY cluster driven by data from a VR PCM running custom code I wrote for it. Has a custom ignition module to interface the Toyota crank/cam sensors to the Delco PCM and to handle the twin dizzys (or seq spark with 8 coils). Also a module to get the VR PCM to control the Toyota gearbox.

Looks great, going to be a shame to see it sold
![]() I remember you wanting to get a turbo jammed in there, the SC setup turned out well with the lack of room. The idler pulley from the timing belt is something I have used on other cars too, they are perfect for the job and cheap as!

Ha, I tend to hoard a few things, that was off a old timing belt kit I did on a customers car. Turbo was too hard with cutting inner gaurds etc and thought it would be too hot on the circuit.
