Brett's VL Turbo in Progress - 700HP


Make / Model / Coliur:
Holden (GMH), 4 door sedan
VL Commodore "Berlina" Turbo
Built June 1986
"Blue Ice" Metallic (GMH paint code 2B042)
Glasurit 2-Pak baked Enamel


Engine Block:
Nissan RB30ET, bored 20 thou over, 1/2" screw in studs
ARGO forged steel connecting rods
Wiseco forged pistons, HPC coated with chrome top rings
ACL bearings, standard crank


Head:
SOHC "factory" head, moderate porting work to inlet, exhaust & bowls
2mm oversize Stainless Steel Exhaust valves
Copper head gasket, sealed with threebond white.
Surecam "HZ50Y106" grind Camshaft
Standard Hydraulic lifters, rocker arms & shafts
Heavy duty double valve springs
Vernier Cam Gear


Exhaust:
Modified "Nizpro" stainless extractors,
HPC "extreme" coated HKS 55mm external wastegate
4" HPC coated stainless exhaust to rear of car

(sold the Twin turbo VL for 11k......Your right I think I miss its ballsy accelleration already!)

but the xr6t goes damn nice, and its getting some big mods in years to come tee hee!

Sorry about the delays in updating the site guys.

I've been relocating back to QLD, and concentrating on business.

As already mentioned, I got shafted (AGAIN) with the car. Car is now elsewhere with reports being written about how shoddy the other work was, and how much I got ripped.

sorry to hear u got shafted mate i did as well 3 years ago when i bought my car from then on i do everything myself all engine building etc just get it tuned by someone else
i dont trust noone now workin on my car. if u do it yourself u know its done right!

sorry i must have missed all the bad stuff. i dont care who stuffed you around, although that is never nice, but what actually happended to the engine ? was it becasue tuning or assembly or both ?

Unfortunately, I can't really say that whether it was tuning assembly or both. In fact, the workshop might argue that it was neither and that the engine package I paid for is without fault.

The technical reports show an answer to the question, but I can't share the contents of it here.

The reality is that raising any kind of legal fight will cost money I don't have, and take time I have even less of.

gday brett i was lookin at ur site like early last year how long u been building this vl man. the engine looks hot as man really nice lookin car, u should bring it down next week for the nats if its goin. Ship the car down here on a trailor and put the engine in at bresciani and then run it in and go to the nats. an idean and a half

Hi guys -

I'm happy now,GOT THE ENGINE BACK!

Danny & John @ Bresciani's have been sooo good to me. The engine came delivered all wrapped up in plastic - felt like chrissy time !

The engine, once unwrapped, was beautifully presented - and they really looked after me on price too. I can thoroughly recommend them, as they are just the best bunch of genuine & sincere guys around.

...can you tell I'm happy?

Now all I have to do is find the time to fit the thing !
