Headers for 308

I am looking to fit extractors/headers to a 1977 Statesman 308 engine which is a VL. I have made some inquiries about what might be suitable and have been getting confusing responses. Would prefer to use off the shelf items rather than custom fabrication if possible, I am possibly thinking of using Hurricanes or Pacemakers. Not fussed whether they are tri-y or 4 into headers. I want a 3 inch outlet from the header.

I figure I will need headers specific to the 308 Kingswood/Statesman engine, but not sure how they would and if there would be any clearance issues.

Any suggestions or advice, or has some one done anything similar?

P.S. The engine will be out of the car, is it easier to fit headers/extractors to the engine before dropping into the car?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

308 in a VL, Is that legal?
I thought you could fit a newer engine but not older.
