FAST!

thanks for those pics, it's become very evident to me that this conversion is substantially easier when air conditioning and power steering are absent. thinking about changing to a manual rack now......also i think you shoulda tried my Vee-belt air con idea, but then again it doesn't look like you'd have many belt slipping issues with your setup.

looks like i'll be relocating my power steering if i do my Vee-belt drive idea, that's gotta suck!

cheers for those pics dude, if you come up for the BBQ on the 20th i'll see you there!

haha you're addicted now! man i want to know who did you pipework and blower mounts, you mentioned it was an engineering place you know? did you have to pay for the labour? cause for 600 that was a great deal.

also i'm not sure why you put a blow off valve in there? did you reckon it needed it? i wouldn't have thought so but i could be wrong!

Me and my dad mounted the blower. An exhaust place near ipswitch did the pipe work..... but after watching what he did, it really isnt that hard to do ur self if u can cut and weld...... all he did was cut up donut pipes.. and placed and welded them in the right spots. I reckon you could do it your self itd just take alot of patience...

the reason I put the BoV there is cause with the throttle body in the stock location... when you back off after full or almost full throttle, lots of pressure builds up in the intake and forces pressure back on the blower -- I blocked off the blow off valve to test this and when we accelerated to full throttle then backed off, the blower choked like a bitch.. the bov wont be needed once i move the throttle body, but ill prolly keep t there to piss off the cops

haha that's the spirit! damn the cops, just glad i'm in brisbane and not melbourne, they're hell strict down there!

let me know when you've moved that throttle body, i think you'll be happy with it in front of ze blower. have to meet up with ya on the next cruise or whatever, have to see this!

one other question: how'd you go with compliance and stuff? is it illegal to do? like, if a cop pulls you over and does a canary job on you, will you get away with the blower? i woulda thought it might need a blue plate, but i could be wrong!

Thanks biatches, I reckon someone needs to type up a good article on how to convert your n/a to a s/c rb30.

I'm going to do it when I get some money from selling my old gearbox.

There isnt really much to it... I mean its not like converting a turbo where all the parts fit and u just got to bolt it up like reading intructions.... you have to weld up your own brackets.. and bolt it to the block.

That does sound pretty good! I might do that aswell my brother has a cam and chip in his motor with extractors i reckon a blower would give it a really big increase!

Well whats involved in setting it up. Getting the blower for one. Then is it pretty much attaching it to the block, getting a belt around the pulley, making up some custom pipework. Relocating the t/b.

What are the finer points?
