Calder price rise

Hows this,

Quote:
Legal off street drag racing pricing as of 30th April will be as follows.

Street Cars: $80

Comp Cars: $130

The competitor price increase is due to a 30% hike in insurance policy costings at Calder Park, and the fact that Calder Park has not changed the competitor price in 3 years.

Any difference in spectator price? Also i thought they had tried to put the price for the comp cars up in the past? Or were they planning to but never did?

I think they did then no comp cars turned up which means no crowds. Then dropped it again.

Ay.. its a business... don't like it? go race somewhere else.

Not like u have options in Vic, so if he can squeeze more cash out of it, makes sense to me.

$80 isn't too bad, better than no track at all.

agreed its not like everybody on here is racing a car every single week without fail.

how often do regulars off here take there cars to calder ? once twice a month if that.

the way the track has been prepared of late i hear it has been the best it has ever been and im sure the big big racers with the mega powerful cars would rather pay the extra $$$ for a well prepared track to put the power down rather than pay cheaper $$$ to take there chances of wether or not theyll be getting the power down on a badly prepared track.

but according to the press release racers are paying for the increase in insurance, not track prep

either way its just basic economics, their costs are gonna go up to run the sh1t so prices are gonna go up

its only an extra $10 anyway, i wouldnt be rushing to burn down a franchise over it

Cost at Calder is $80 for street cars, which includes 3 spectator passes ($75 value) and Comp cars are 130, which includes 3crew passes ($75 value, max 5 crew) and spectators are $25, and they have family tickets, 2 adults and kids under 18 for $40......
With these prices I think they are moving in the right direction....
