Need some new fronts not 2nd hand semis. Little more neg camber and possible a better cooling system and rear sway bar.
Car is about to boil and starts detuning its self just as the tyres are hot and im getting some rhythm. Can only really get a warm up lap and 2 to 3 flat strap. Keeping in the reelms of a street / track car i only think theres a second or 2 in it but id still like to achive that to be completly choofed.

Anything better than a 1.20.00 will see me sent home due to the CAMS licence i hold. As it is ive been warned about a couple of things today. There is a porsche spint day ive been invited to on the 30th of this month but unsure if im prepared to kill it twice this month.

Would really like to preserve the box for the drags if ??? they open in december.

yeah we need more local VL guys out there just for giggles. It's farkin great to see a couple of older commos on the track, running respectable times.

Better than Anzac/Port road anyway, they've got timing gear out there

What did they warn you about, apart from the fuel thing?
Is your box an MX7 or R33 box?

Yeah besides losing half a tank of juice around the track thru the filler there was
Stop drifting { wasnt really trying to}
Stop bringing gravel on the track. {once again wasnt trying to} Went a bit deep couple of times just over the ripple cos i couldnt get second gear. My mate in the STI went fully rally bashing. He also got told to stop drifting. Yes its 4wd but unbelivably the thing got hell lose with his new tyres. Other than that it was ok. It was a good day. If anyone wants to come out its only $100 for the day but you need to join a CAMS affiliated car club. Membership per year is like $90 also entitles other events hillclimbs and motorkhanas etc
Message me if anyones interested.
Cheers for popping down. Sorry didnt see you off guess i was out on track?

$10 day pass for the cams licence tho if you dont want to pay for a full year isnt it, so really only $110, well worth it.
How do you think a standard vlt would go around the track man, are there many slower cars out there that arnt pushing as hard just more so having fun?
I would assume youll hold everyone up which they wouldnt like

If it was only $10 i think i would go that way myslef but i dont know about that. 10 years ago when i went out in my standard VLT 5spd i thrashed the tits off it with bald streets tyres and specs and did a 1.31.00 flat. Ten mins later the head blew. There was all sorts out there today from low 1.20s to mid 1.40s {Old Alfa}. Well worth it to have some good fun and better yourself not anyone else. It goes by dialed in times so you dont really catch and overtake very often Theres 2 classes for the Modern regularity anyway. You'll have no issues.

Not really consistent 1.23s he was cut he didnt beat me today. Last time he was doing 1.21s and 2s. Federal semi slicks a waste of time. Perfect to drift your subaru tho!

Just looked at a previous post of yours XCHASE your not actually running a brake setup thats too wild. That makes your lap times even more impressive.

You think theres further improvement with braided brake lines/fuck off front calipers and discs? Also a larger rim/lower profile tyre combo?

If i went to malalla id give it 1 full lap before ive got stupid brake fade and run off into a wall i rekon lol. One time after a downhill lofty run i could barely pull it up at the bottom of the hill lmao i think i was using the brake excessivly though and was auto

Honestly i cbf spending the cash on braided lines etc. Honestly the brakes are holding really well. At about the 200mtr mark i can make the turn on the brakes and into second from around 180kph. I think thats pretty impressive myself. Car stops better on the track than on the street. I watched the video tonight and you can see the front squat and the arse raise up and it just goes around the corner. Only upgrade i may do is get drilled rotors next time but at this point in time i cant see the reason for it as the rotors are like brand new. Fluid is definatley helping also. Its not spongey or boiling etc.

when i get my car back together ill be taking it out there. Im hoping for 1.20s but thats super quick for a street car. Brake wise i have hsv grange rotors up front (365mm or something like that) with vt calipers and green stuff pads, in the rear i have slotted rotors, standard calipers and green stuff pads. Car should be making about 250 -275rwkw so it will be interesting to see if i can get the power down, cant run smaller than 18's due to rotor size.
Top effort anyways XCHASE.

Thanks for the comments guys,
That should be interesting maybe we should see if we can catch up and go out at the same time. Im running 285rwkw on 14psi. I tried 20psi a couple of times today didnt impove ****, just made the car get hot extra quick. Mate i cant say i would'nt like some big fu#k off brakes like that but id stress about getting defected for wheel size. For you it might be ok but id rather stay legal on 17s and keep it street. I way prefer my 18s but dont want the hassels from you know who.

haha its sad be he is right,

Ben: Are you expecting to be defected with your car, obviously youll have a few or alot of things that arnt technically legal - do you think if/ when your pulled over being an officer will 9 times out of 10 make them look the other way, and if they do defect you will it in any way reflect poorly on you as a police officer?

Im just curious man, cheers.

Depends what you're comparing it to.

In 1987 and 1990 when it won bathurst it seemed to go round corners well compared it peers at the time.

Ok its been nearly 2 months since i've been out to the track and i am bloody hanging for a hit!

This Sunday will be the day. I have purchased a new PWR radiator today so hopefully by friday it will be here, just in time for the weekend. Even if it isnt oh well i'm going out anyway.
I have also picked up a better set of front semi slicks too. So with a bit of luck i may be able to get that illusive 1.20.00 or 1.21.00

My mate is back for the weekend and he will be taking out his lotus exige and my other mate will be out in his Wrx. So hopefully the plan is to show them that a crappy old cab can play with the boys. lol

I'll keep you guys posted.
