Precision turbos

Hi all, just wondering if there is anyone on here who has started using one of these Precision turbos. Im hearing some good reports about them and am planning to build my next setup with one of these turbos, just wondered what are your thoughts?

I'm using a 7175 cea billet. Seems mint so far, for the size is very responsive, am only running low ish boost at the moment with a stock head. Couldn't be happier with the turbo thus far!

I've got a pt6766. Was on the engine dyno with it yesterday for first tune with new motor but ran out of time to fix the problems and do any power runs. will be back there Wednesday to try again if we fix the few issues we have.

Yes was on the engine dyno for a few hours tuning. Done the first power run to 6200rpm on 22 psi and made 738hp and 600 ft lbs torque with 15 deg timing. Put 3 more deg timing in it and went to go for a full run and the turbo blew at around 6000rpm. Tune was impressed with the turbo as it was making 15 psi of boost at 3000rpm and 300 ft lbs of torque.

The turbo blew? Why?

They run them on every supra in the states pretty much
With bigger all neg feedback or quality/strength issues

Don't really know why. My guess would be bearings collapsed. Should have new one in 2 weeks and then back on the dyno to try again.

Were the bearings getting enough or to much oil pressure?

Could be contributing factor?

Turbo is as they sell it. still has restrictor in place. got a note with the turbo saying if it is removed it voids warranty so not touching it. as for oil i checked the oil feed and return while engine was cracking and all was good. oil pressure was at a max of 70 psi at 6000 rpm so that can't be a problem with the restrictor being in place.

Bang for buck these are excellent. They are a step up from the garrett series we all know and love.

Will be redundant soon due to new technologies, but I'd imagine these will be the affordable option for another few years at a minimum. It's a shame it takes us so long to catch up in Aus.. especially on my side of the country
