Plenums make performance difference. All plenums are pretty much the same and do the same job, but looks and prices are different. Depends on what application u wana use it for.

Whoa dude wrong, there are huge difference between most plenums places like nizpro spend hrs &hrs (not to mention HEAPS of $$$$$) on making there plenum flow charactiristics etc perfect, where as joe blogs plenums is a milk cartoon glued to the top of some runners promising huge power gains, no proof and NO FLOW BENCH TESTING! all plenums serve the same purpose but u will find most do it different to the next

*Mods will be watching this.. so unless it's constructive... don't bother.

That said...

Do a search.. topic has been covered a fair few times.. Different plenums offer different gains. It all depends on what setup your going for with what you want to achieve.. and who your doing it with

what are u trying to achieve? ive seen power ported na plenums flow that much. thing is aftermarket plenums have there cons and pros i.e most move the t/b to front- pro- easier cooler piping con- very difficult to get evn cylinder fill. get where im coming from? basically the stock n/a or turbo plenums are fine for street use as 250-300rwkw is a pretty serious street car

everyone claims there plenums are best, but are they really.....they range from $1100-$1900(for the proven, good ones),id say go for the one that suits your car, street, race or both,id like to suggest the bresciani plenum(old nizpro) as ive used them before, they work a treat and look fantastic as im sure everyone would agree, they will set you back about $1400 but your getting something that works at a high performace level and street drivability, but the choice is yours, take a look around...good day.

well said omy-11s..

everyone has different opinions. Ive seen the Rajab plenum in use on & off the track as many would have seen them pop up on cars at the bresciani dyno day.. Ive seen nizopro plenums (new bresciani plenum) on and off the track aswell. Havent seen jpc`s plenum in person but hey its on Vas`s 8s machine.. Just different characteristics in different plenums, for eg spool times and so on.. Id say ring around dude and see what works for you. ask people who do use these plenums.. m using a rajab plenum on my na atm. do a read up on different plenums. im sure its been covered many times just like other topics.

honestly though for like 250-300rwkw.. woulnd't you just get the stock one ported.. as they are well proven to flow enough air to make the power youre aiming for..

Money could be better spent in other areas.. and for a street car, a plenum can be a pain, as the police will know it's not standard..

apprently so but thats only on a few "freaky" engine set ups...surely someone else has done a low 10 sec pass or close to on a standard plenum...any takers....

i would have to disagree there. i know where you are coming from because every magazine says it, but it not necessarily true, especially when you see some of the plenums made by the workshops featured in magazine.

i have carried out several flow tests on standard, my plenums, and one of the other plenums mentioned in this thread, of which all have a forward facing tb, and these have proven to create a more even amount of flow between cylinders.

the std plenum fails to give good flow to #2 & #5 compared to the rest of the cyliders, due to the bolt holes which get in the way and effect flow more than you would think.

sounds like a pretty decent gain considering stock turbos can only muster around 120 or so rwkw. can you notice much of a difference.?

that i wont mention as i could almost guarantee that they would not be impressed with what i have done. it was done just to get an idea where i am at in my development compared to others, which i must say the results for me were better than expected to say the least.

what i will say is that it was better than standard.

I've found that the N/A plenum makes a noticable difference over the turbo plenum even in stock form... I'll be getting my N/A plenum raceported soon, and hope to see another decent improvement...

It all comes down to two things.
-Money
-Desired outcome

If you have the money to go and buy a $2000 plenum, and your desired outcome is to have a nice looking engine bay, then by all means, go for it...

If however you have $2000 and your desired outcome is a nice quick streetable 300rwkw car, then forgo the plenum and do some other work with that money, the standard turbo plenum and n/a plenum's have proven themselves time and time again.

Around $650 for the N/A inlet manifold and Bored XF throttle body.. think that goes from 68mm to 72mm..

Extrude honing is used.. 215cfm runner flow average.. up from 186cfm I think.. on a standard manifold.

215cfm is pretty good.. i saw someone mention a while back that they had made an N/A plenum flow 300cfm on every runner... thats pretty intence.. however they could have been full of crap..
