air bag suspension?

gday guys just wondering what the general opinion of a slam bagged calais mock up would be, as some of you have seen my car i am keeping it the gold colour but it will be getting a full respray with a few custom touches very soon and i have been contimplating going way away from the general vl mould (not that there is anything wrong with that).

it will be rolling on polished calais wheels with portawalls (big white walls) eg Malpasso, as its daily rims and will possibley keep the 18's just for when i want a change unless anyone makes an offer on them,

so any feed back good/bad would be appreciated,

cheers guys

Send a message via MSN to 91BOMBA
Go for it but I'd check prices first maybe call cronic customs or wa suspension

Is that fitted and engineered? (sounds fairly cheap if it is engineered). Or do you mean by your post that your mates are going to fit them?

Or are 'slam bags' the ones that are like the PolyAir airbag style units?

Would look neat if you decided to do it
.

$3500 is just supplied in a complete kit form and from there i will fit it with a few people that i know that have experience in bags and from there get it engineered and as for the polyair bags im quite sure there more suited for heavy loads and for 4x4s

Make sure you get it all permitted/engineered...owning a VL is a yellow sticker waiting to happen (no pun intended) and getting a air bagged car over the pits could cause quite a headache financially...

commit the turbo conversion and getting boosting asap!

My VY was lowered with polyair airbag units for the simple reason that it didn't have the hassle of engineering and then possible insurance issues. You should also check if your insurance will cover your car with what you are planning.

The car was fitted with 20" rims with legal load rated tyres to suit (also something insurance looks at) and these 'had' to fit lol so went with short travel shocks all round and a set of custom lovell springs with the Polyair airbag units in the rear which allowed the ride height in the rear to be altered some what, but still made the car to be practical when driven or with passengers. The guards were heavily rolled.

Polyair airbag units are advertised as being for loads, but can be used for a flexible lowering application where needed 'to a point'.

An alternative for you I guess, if you have issues with what you are planning.
