Not really man, it's getting close though - I can feel it. The Plazmaman boys have been under the pump so I don't think much progress has been made on the cooler pipes. From their shop though it's only a quick stop at Pedders, chuck the tailshaft I had built in and then it's driveable! First drive will be on a Saturday afternoon in an industrial estate with a culdesac in close proximity.

4.11s, spool, five speed, no pipes and fresh 19s. See ya tyres!

Plazmaman rang and said the car should be ready for pick up on Wednesday. I'm geed because I haven't seen it for a few weeks - I've deliberaetly been abstaining so that when I see the finished product I blow out!

It'll go straight to Pedders Bankstown from there for the full suspension build and with any luck, the first drive. Should have some updated pictures this week

Update time.

The car is done at Plazmaman and finally leaves there tomorrow on the truck to Pedders.

We got the boys to plumb up the intercooler with their trademark jaw-dropping alloy intercooler piping, and they've delivered exactly what we expected! Instead of polishing the alloy this time the boys experimented with coating the pipes which I think works pretty well - the same polished effect without the constant upkeep.

You'll notice that the boys also welded in a blow-off valve. For someone as pro-dose as I am this was a bit of a shock but Alex assures me we wont lose any flutter. By the same token we get all the benefits of a blow off valve - better throttle response and increased turbo longevity.

The cold side of the cooler blows me away; the boys outdid themselves here. You can see the AFM in it's new place behind the front bar which I think really neatens the place up. The hot side I'm not so fussed with but that's not in anyway Plazmaman's fault, more the fault of the KKR turbo and the RB25 low mount manifold which meant that the compressor housing has to be positioned in the gayest of gay ways. It's prompted me to start saving again, so by next year we'll have that side looking as good as the intake side.

Let me know what you think.

That looks amazing. I dont mind the turbo side at all with the exposed mint piping.

Are you at all concerned about where the afm sits? I wouldnt be keen to drive in the wet....

Not really man, it's pretty much a matter of 'she'll be right'.

If I find that the position leaves it exposed to masses of water I'll wrap it in a plastic bag or something

So the car is now at Pedders Bankstown getting the underneath looked at. We've had most of the undercarriage components powdercoated and colour coded which should, if nothing else, look pretty.

Make it a point of never working sober:

Fitting the front bar with the help of the air hacksaw:

And about half of the stuff we have ready to go into it at Pedders

Should be rolling out of there by the weekend

Is it true Pedders bought the factory that makes the Holden/ford steering racks? My calais needs a new rack and the guy at the local Pedders told me that story, so the punchline was that by shopping with them I'd get a brand new rack, every piece of it, rather than a remanufactured. Sounded good, especially considering there was only $50 difference in Pedders price over one of the local respected steering joints. Hopefully some similar goodies to those in the pic above will find thier way onto my car in the near future. Already done all front end bushes and rear sway bar, mounts and link pins, plus panhard rod bushes, made a very noticeable difference. Rear trailing arms are next once the steering is sorted.
If you ever ditch that front bar Liam I'm already interested. Just replaced mine after it was busted up, but the replacement is a bit ordinary, only got it for rego. Looking good all round so far.

Or it could be me wishing to allude that something may be in the works when it's not really, but just to keep people entertained and guessing I'll try and make it out like something is.

Man I miss my WaveRunner

The car finally came down off the hoist after a two-week stay at Pedders. I haven't seen the car this complete and on the ground before, I was so wrapt!

Yeah, it's kinda low! Tucks tyre at the front and the top of the rim at the back. I couldn't be happier with how it looks, and with all the gear that went in it's going to drive just as good as it looks

How much did you spend at Pedders, can you give me break down price list of all your work as I badly want to get brand new suspension done to my VLCT .

Thanks buddy.
