This is my A9Q Limited Edition 2 SL 6 cyl the day I bought it. It's auto (now converted to manual) with factory central locking, tacho dash, highrise console and has seat trim with a combination of exec and berlina fabrics.

Again, doing some severe mining here, I'm wondering if anyone has any contacts for finding out some original build details for a A8S?

Holden weren't very helpful saying anything pre 1989 they don't have records for.

Thanks

I bought it from the original owners son around 14 years ago. The original owner worked for Holden at the Lang Lang grounds.

It was in fairly good unmolested condition in some areas, but had been resprayed in the same dark blue, but debadged.

Had tacho dash, but unsure of what it was ordered/built with as an exec or SL?

Thanks

Does anyone have any pics of the A9Q pack and specifically what wheels it should have come out from factory with? It is a 15 inch option I know but are unsure if just the interceptor style wheels or the Turbo Hubcaps etc.

Thanks

A9q is just a 5l yes?

if so then yes the standard 15" wheel option for sl exec and berlina turbo and v8 models was the 15" "turbo" hubcap and 15x6 steelies.

ceptoirs were 15x6 with the plastic centre caps and the calais had the 15x6 alloys.

some early berlinas were fitted with VK Calais rims. I've only ever seen them on 6cyl's and have even seen it on an era magazine car.

not sure if they were factory or dealer fitted. but generally early 86 models and all I have seen are berlina 6cyls.

---------- Post added 05-07-17 at 11:59 ----------

note: early 86 cars the turbo and v8 werent released yet so thats probably why I've only seen the vk calais rims on n/a 6 cyls.

No the A9Q is a Dealer pack option that the dealer could option the car up with whatever they wanted etc. In my case mine is a 5.0 and a heap of other options including PH2 15x6 Steel rims as you said so I presume being a 5.0 V8 would have had the same hubcaps as the VL Turbo yeah??

vl turbo caps are easy to find if you have money.

the value is over 500 a set currently. some sets have been advertised at 1g.

if you are paying that much get a nice restored set without rivets.

that or the cheap option is VL or VK Calais wheels or even walkinshw wheels. all era correct and cheaper than turbo hubcaps.

and the "oh god" if i'm inter[preting correct is this.

every d'head out there says "wanted - vl turbo hubcaps" but doesn't have the money or doesn;t want to spend that much.

theyre not hard to get if you have the cash to splash.

gumtree and ebay are good as is facebook.

Go the Vk Calais rims and throw off to all the ppl that know it all and say they didn't come out like that.
