Family wagz

New guy here,

Bought this last weekend, dirt cheap:

The good:
Fresh paint
Drives

The bad:
Super awesome interior

I'm sure I'll find more as I get it ready for club reg

I was building a VB that was going to get an LS conversion, my wife saw me pull the windscreens out of the VB and see the Swiss cheese in the frames, she found this on Facebook and teed up with the guy for me to have a look, then bought it home.

Since added VZ SS wheels

The plan:
Club reg and use it

Was originally going to go LS, but thinking of just strapping a turbo on the side and seeing how long it will hold together

Rwc done today, just needed a windscreen, rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders.

Got it running better, found a loom for the auto not plugged in, reset ignition timing and replaced the air flow meter, fixed a couple of dash lights that weren’t working.

Dropped my forms off at my car club for club rego.

Nearly ready to use!

The worst thing about not getting it painted myself is that when the screen was removed to be replaced, found a heap of rust around the frame The screen obviously wasn’t pulled out to paint it.

I have to replace the head lining anyway to something not as loud so will get the rust fixed at the same time later in the year

rust is the norm.

i have 2 cars here ive been playing with a vn and a vl. i've had both front and rear out on both cars and all fronts and rears have required work. in saying that i'd class both cars as exceptionally rust free examples.

Pulled all the new suspension out of the VB and swapped it into the VL on Sunday just gone.

The front is all Nolathane with lowered King springs and Monroes

The rear is all Nolathane with lowered Sedan King springs and adjustable panhard, Shocks are different sedan to wagon so will need to source some new ones.

Just need to do inner and outer tie rod ends now and I can get it aligned, Still waiting on my forms to come back from my car club but I can just about taste rego now :yahoo:
