Headgasket blew and turbo was hooked up wrong. Coolant being fed into the turbo instead of oil. Hence why I was losing so much.

a cometic gasket is the go. ARP studs are absolutely a good idea too but you will need have the block machined if you go oversize.

A mate said he will come down this weekend to have a look at it, and start doing the head gasket, and furthermore see what else the old owner stuffed up.

i thought that americas cu logo was a joke for a second. it looks like a hookah which is something that most vl owners are as familiar with as broadmeadows markets / sydney rd kebabs and bad 90s techers.

Haha yeah man. The outside badges have already been removed, were kind of ugly anyway. Could try source some new ones, for the sake of originality, but meh.

Awesome idea, everything's getting so much now so wont cost you an arm and a leg to do it properly. Keep it up.

Just picked up a new full Manta exhaust system for $100.00 as the 3" had bits and pieces cut and bent and it wasn't any good basically. So VL should be back on the road soon Just need a new throttle cable, but it should be drive-able without replacing it anyway.

More issues with her, namely the headgasket.

just consider what your end goal is going to be, if you keep going the way you are now your gonna blowout your budget and redo everything or can it like you did with your last vl and buy a Ford .

Decide what you want to end up with and work towards that. My vl sat next to my house for three years while i got all the parts together to get it back up and running the way i wanted it to

Making it run is my goal. Also I canned it because it had rust everywhere. Was not as clean as my current. I furthermore was on my L's so couldn't easily acquire parts. Hence why I lost interest and swapped it for the SS. Not a bad decision in hindsight because now I have the VL, despite its issues, it is a clean example, and I do not intend to sell it anytime within the near future. Oh and. I. Will. Never. Buy. A. Ford. Period.

I bought a Ford, it's not that bad. My Calais is just sitting there now (probably a good thing as the paint is in an embarrassing state)

Sucks to read about the turbo set up in it. At least you pulled it all down before even more went wrong. Shouldn't be too hard to sort the CAS out. All the best!

Car should be running within the next week or two. Turbo gear got sold (Updated in OP), and I will most likely be purchasing some Venetians within the week.
