Changes in P Plate Restrictions?
Friend of mine just sent me this article:
http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/n...807-2rg9o.html Thoughts? VL Turbo market could be in for a boom if it goes to plan. Given that it'd be limited to 130KW/T I think it's a good idea. (Being a P Plater I am biased of course)

I think it's jumping the gun just a little bit. 130kW/T still isn't bucketloads of power and they've indicated that they'll be targeting vehicles where forced induction is used to assist fuel economy, not vehicles from the 1980s with massive front mounts...

If its anything like the other states, wont it be a list of cars approved for p platers?
Obviously most VL's dont stay at factory output very long, but i dont see RMS forking out for dyno runs

it is only the newer cars I have been informed as a friend who is in Sydney told me. for example the ecoboost ford where it uses turbo to save fuel. I don't think a vl turbo would still be allowed to be driven on p plates as me and my friend discussed this. as it isnt turbocharged for the use of efficiency.

Has anyone driven a VL Turbo on there Ps in NSW? Im thinking of making my VL a Turbo, but im on my red Ps, so just wondering what are the chances of losing my license if i get caught and is there any chance they will take my car off me?
Is it really worth waiting 3 years until full license? Theres no way to really hide the turbo setup, but is there anyway to make it less noticeable if cops open the bonnet?

---------- Post added 07-06-14 at 10:41 ---------- And in response to CYNICL, it will be like the Vic p plate laws, only cars with forced induction for the purpose of fuel economy. VL turbos are not allowed

I'd like to see what kind of approach police take to these rules, as well as how strict they are on the shape of the car itself. If they don't even let intercoolers slide I think it'd be better to wait till fulls haha.

Ahh NSW have the acceptance for VLs
Isn't there the restriction that the car must be newer than 2010?
