The correct product for your window guides is a product called DRY GLYDE spray in the grooves.If you use a wet product all that does is collect dust,Also remove the door pannels and lube the moving componates of the window regulator.

Yeah you just have to carefully trim the 5 or 6 tabs on the back where they look like they are melted/glued with a sharp knife to free them and then the surround will pop off. Clean the contacts with some electrical cleaner and maybe turn them 180deg before putting them back in
