Im currently using a garrett 3540 internal turbo with a 82 rear housing but I am wanting more response from my turbo as it makes boost around 3500 400 on my mx7, can anyone help me out with any shops in perth that stock smaller housings to suit??

You should put more boost into that turbo, if I remember reading you are only running on 9psi. The 0.82 should be perfect with manual RB30

Its on a standard motor at moment not 100% on it yet I will compression test it this week, buy putting more boost in will not affect the time it spools up will it

Did you upgrade the cam? if the engine is healthy aim for 18 psi on 98 pump fuel which is being concervative.
Im thinking the waste gate will be opening early trying to hold 9 psi which will slow down shaft speed of the turbo. When aiming for higher boost this process happens later as the turbo builds boost and should come on faster low down.

need to know more about your setup. Have you installed thicker head gasket to lower CR on standard engine, and what fuel system.
