No chance in hell, you do the crime you do the time, Vicroads, Victoria Police and The Magistrate don't care about your car and tafe situation, Same rules apply to all. If they let you off then they think he hasn't learnt his lesson and in most cases 90% of people that don't get given a suspension or some kind of slap on the wrist, carry on with the same attitude a.k.a. I don't give a f*** ! By giving you the suspension they're hoping you will slow down and really think about how much not having a licence impacts your life and therefore will think twice before you go rip a SkId

i agree with the other replys, ive been in this situation plenty of times theres nothing you can say or do to reduce your time, if you have mates or parents near by i suggest slip em some coin for petrol to drive your ass around, not worth it nowdays to get done in the same time you got no license, ill be 30 by the time i get off my p's haha.
Teaches ya to be smarter and wiser and to think for that 1 second where and when to do things, if its in your blood youll always be a rev head,
my thoughts anyways

If you have a good Barrister, speak to them, and see how you go. I went through a situation when i was younger (Drive while suspended), and i did pretty well through the courts, because of my legal team, and which one was an police prosecutor.

Having said that, if you're not able to spend the coin, just stick out the 6 months, and move forwards man, that all i can advise, from my own experiences. Im just lucky that my business does well enough to have been able to spend the money i needed to.

By the time you go back to court to get a result of any kind, your 6 months will have well and truly passed. Just stick it out, slow down, and enjoy your car.

Look forward to track days.......thats what i do now, to get it out of my system.

I would apply for a restricted licence, you still have a suspension, however if the restricted is granted you can drive to and from work/school. You have to go to court to get it, and with a clean prior history you might get one, might being the keyword.

Someone I know got done under hoon laws and lost his license for two years. He had to hire a driver to get to work for that period which cost him about $40,000. That's money straight from his pocket. It also stopped him moving in to his new house he just bought as he couldnt get around, so he stuck renters in there. Talk about life on hold.

You reckon he's learnt his lesson? You bet.

They should pitch hoon ads at those costs... they hurt!

If he was on good coin, you could spin that as a solid tax break, and negatively gear the rental... silver lining

He paid the guy cash. It was cheap but without the tax saving it cost him heaps.

There's more to life than having the 'silver lining', like moving out of home with your girlfriend, living in your own home, running your own business independently and getting ahead.

Yeah, i guess it works both ways. You'd need to be a bit crafty to make it work for you. Depends on your work though, if you need to drive for your job, rather than just to your job, then you're without a paddle

haha i 2 agree to this, or your old ladys name lol or a jap ute it does work,

ooolala--wouldnt the 3month suspension run concurrent with your 6month suspension as they are seperate?, cos when youve done your time letter comes out after for the points you lost for the 6months affence, then you get to choose, so really its still 6 months i think?, ive had this happen couple times aswell

Siksle8 i dnt know how its done :S since this is my first time gettin my license suspended and from what i understand how they told me is i do my 6 month suspension coz i lost 6 point all at one go since im on my p.s and we only get 5 points.that says on my infringement notice then i get my license back once ive done my time then they said vicroad will send me a letter to choose between 1 point 1 year or 3 month suspension... which ill be obivisouly choosin the 3 month suspension.. but the thing is why do i have to do 2 suspension 1 for 6 month and one for 3 month... that is how they explained it to me and thats how i understand it. If that is true then thats just bull****!

---------- Post added 11-04-13 at 03:23 ----------

Trust me fellas i have a family car under my mothers name but a toyota aurion stock as rock 200kw on the engine will just make it easy for me to speed i need something that struggles to reach 100km/ph to be fine on a 6 month suspension.

Maybe you should invest in some self control if you still havn't learnt your lesson. It's not the car that causes the speeding.

Agree with above. There's plenty of people with stupidly fast cars that drive around on the st without any issues at all, just cause they have the power doesn't mean it has to be used.
