syncros?

Hey guys any Idea on a price to replace syncros in an R33 5 speed box? Or would it be easier just to replace the box?

Off the top of my head I think it's around 1k to replace syncros and rebuild the box and u can get a new used box for around 1500 but it depends on the damage that has been done

i think you'll find its a bit more than a g to get one rebuilt with new synchro's mate. i might be wrong though, but i couldn't find a decent price when i was looking for my old one

I got a mx5 rebuilt years ago, because I was assured it would be cheap! Once you drop the box and open it up you end up doing synchros, the bearings and whatever else you find. The quoted price quickly can blow out.

Another 25 box would be a safer/cheaper in my opinion.

definitely get a new(er) box.
if its starting to go its likely to warrant a full rebuild.
You can pick up 33 boxes for closer to 1k, it does get to be a little bit of a lucky dip, i got lucky, mine makes heaps of noise but accepts any and all punishments. was $1100 about 3 years ago, been noisy the whole time.

when I'm older and have a shed i'm going to have a go at rebuilding one myself. from the research i've done for other cars its not actually that hard, but its easy to **** up bigtime!
