Easternats 2012 @ Winton

Ill post up a flyer etc soon, just wanted to post some updates from "Davo"

Quote:
Apologies for the delay, all prize money cheques from the 2011 EASTERNATS have been paid. Planning for the 2012 event now includes 12.5 hours of cruising over Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Davo's Dash has been changed and will now be a straight out power skid and the Drags have been moved to Monday.

easternats.com.au highlights all the 2012 event details including the $160.00 early bird entry fee which expires at the end of November. 50% of garages have already been sold so get in early! Look forward to seeing you at the EASTERNATS on the 6-9th April 2012.

EASTERNATS is now connected to twitter, join up and keep abreast of all the latest information.
Quote:
Website being upgraded to include Facebook and Twitter both should be up and running within the next two weeks. In the meantime all the informationis available on the Regs, entry and indemnity form, price list and the sensational new schedule which now includes 12.5 hours of ontrack cruising over Sat, Sun and Monday. Take advantage of the super cheap entry fee of $160.00 available until the end of November. Remember the EASTERNATS 'twhere the driver in the seat waves to the fan on his feet"

Just some more updates from davo

Quote:
With the enormous growth of the internet, I will not be doing a mass mail out of the Regs, Entry and Indemnity forms. If any body needs a form or does not have access to the internet, please ring 0418 386640 or email davo@easternats.com.au with your postal details and I will send a copy in the mail. Please tell your friends as a number of enquiries were concerned that they may have missed out. Regards Jon Davo.
Quote:
pit lane garages at the EASTERNATS are $300 for all three days and include three cars per garage. The prices at the EASTERNATS have not gone up in three years. See you there regards Jon Davo
Quote:
Fantastic reaction to the November discount over 70 entries. Never had that number four months out before. Thanks for your support to all those that have entered so far. Everyone is raving about the 12.5 hours of cruising plus all the other pedal to the metal events. Regards Jon Davo

Anyone planning on heading up again? I did last year and it was a bit quiet but I think this one is going to be a fair bit bigger. If you go you need to camp... it's almost better than the track lol

I had one last year but they couldnt find any paperwork when I got there... so wouldnt give me one. Not that I cared, the track access from the garages is poor and you cant see anything anyway.

Easternats Promo video can be found here.

Some more updates from Davo
Quote:
Tell everyone the new EASTERNATS website is up and running. Check it out all the info is there. HD really positive meeting at Winton today. Drags are going to be over 1/8th mile which most prefer. Commentary will be on Winton 87.6 FM. Meeting with police to be convened to ensure unregistered vehicles can drive around pit area and over to camping area. The event will be the best "automotive expression session" Be there or we will start without you. Regards Jon Davo
Quote:
Read Pages16 and 17 of Saturday 25th Feb Age newspaper about the road trauma among the young. The article highlights what I have been saying for years, Their is a massive and growing car culture in Melbourne and paricilarly in the eastern suburbs with the community police and the media continually reporting about the number of accidents and the emotional and finiancial costs of road trauma. Ok then give the young an "automotive expression session" with somewhere to go and "let of stream", which is what the EASTERNATS provided. The Dandenong Council who originally asked me to create an event that would encourage the "rev head" as they called it to do it at a race track and the Melbourne Racing Club should hang their head in shame for canceling the EASTERNATS . This horepower fest catered for fan of the automobile somewhere to go and put pedal to the metal and have some fun. It's not only what soany young car owners want needs but wants. It's time to mount a publicity campaign and get some action. Regards Jon Davison
Quote:
Hear that a rival event is to be staged at Heathcote, ok but lets look at the EASTERNATS prizemoney and on track time. Burnouts 1st $3000, 2nd $2000, 3rd $1500, 4th $1000, 5th $500. The Masters wiil feature some of the best from Australia but includes the first three from last years Burnout comp so new entrants are given an opportunity to star. The drags have been moved back to their traditional time of Monday with $3000 for first and $2000 for second. The other driving events including the Go tio Whoa and Davo"s Dash have $600 for first, $400 for second and $200 for third. Plus 12.5 hours alone devoted to cruising. Everyone will get plenty of track time. You cannot get this fantastic horsepower buzz if you do not have a dedicated race track. . See you at the EASTERNATS at Winton Raceway 6th to 9th April. Regards Jon Davol 0418 386640

Was pretty disappointed with yesterday as it was the first time I've been back in about 5 years and thought it had a lack of variety. Hope it improves in the coming years...
