I had a thought the other day , how amazing a VL calais could look if someone was smart enough to paint it a really really nice darkish grey.

Then it came to me, that that someone has already had that smart thought and put it into action.

This car is amazing. Keep it up

This Calais needs some love.
She's been feeling pretty left out lately as I've been paying a lot more attention to the white girl with the polished Calais shoes

So I decided to start showing my love and buy some new bling suspension parts. Girls love bling.

Have VN/VP lower strut bodies which are getting repainted black
New Adjustable Koni Yellow sport shocks, King Superlow springs, Kmac adjustable camber/castor plates, new bump stop kits
All new superpro bushes - Top Spring Insulator bushes, Radius rod to chassis bushes, Lower Control arm to chassis bush, Control arm to radius rod bush, Heavy duty Sway bar link kit to suit the VN struts, new ball joints fitted to lower control arms.
Havent picked out a new sway bar yet, but its currently got a 26mm bar which is bigger than the standard FE2 bar

more to come later

maybe

Why the yellows over the reds?

yellows are externally adjustable, just pop the bonnet, remove the dust cap and turn.
-whereas the reds need to be removed from the car to adjust

I've got a set of reds but they need to be rebuilt...

could possibly be different for other cars, but for VL's the yellows always have cost more than the reds

Finally changed out my 'Rajab Racing' K-frame with a good one that I had painted... (I'm suprised the former one didn't receive a mention when the Calais went over the pits!)

Also just got my brake calipers back from being rebuilt.

They'll go on soon with new rotors - firstly just getting rid of the V8 3.08 ratio diff thats was retardedly put in by a previous owner...
Also need to change my brake master cylinder aswell.

I just picked up my hubs this arvo from getting bead blasted and new bearings shells pressed in and will probably end up getting some DBA slotted rotors all round. For now just going for 297mm rotors up front to fit under my polished Walky rims.

lol Who knows what the reasons were, I was thinking maybe it was to run a bigger sump, but I thought they were generally made to fit without any chopping...

Spent a fortune buying new coolant hoses for the RB25 - genuine Nissan as no one seems to make an aftermarket kit. I learnt from my white Calais to change the hoses while the motor is out because theres not much room for my hands in the engine bay to change the ones under the inlet manifold!

The plan for now is to run a stockish RB25DET setup, so I can get it engineered with the twin cam motor and then go better later
But for now I've got a highflowed R34 turbo, with the larger OP6 rear housing, and an LTX12s ecu/loom to go on it.

The plan was always to run with the 25, but I wasnt sure if/how long I would keep it.
I've got a 26 head and a 30 bottom end that I'd like to build, but $$ wise, a V8 would probably better..

I've got a couple bits and pieces planned for the 25 anyways:
550cc Deatschwerks Injectors with Nismo FPR
Tomei Poncams with adjustable Exhaust cam gear and Tomei 'Type A' valve Springs
High flow R34 Neo OP6 Turbo built by Per4manz
Nismo clutch slave cylinder, Nismo H/d crossmember mount, Nismo Shifter
Xtreme 9 puck clutch
Ecu - Undecided yet. Wouldn't mind a Vipec or may just look at a PowerFC with Z32 afm...
