DRAG RACING IS GO……ALMOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have all been waiting for it and at 3pm today ANDRA confirmed
their desire to be involved in drag racing at Revfest. At midday on
Thursday, after flying from Adelaide (at our expense), ANDRA will be
making a site inspection with delegates from the NSW Department of Sport
and Recreation to issue ANDRA sanctioning and sub sequentially,
a Motorsport Licence for the event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is massive guys and girls and we look forward to long relationship
with Australia’s Premier Drag Racing organization.

Brenton Myers will be our point of contact at ANDRA and he has been really
enthusiastic about this relationship.

Safety wise:
ANDRA Day Licenses: Are $5 each with no personal accident insurance cover.
For a further optional fee of $5 the entrant will be covered for personal
accident insurance at the Category 2 level. Category 2 cover applies to the
driver or rider only.

ANDRA Helmet Requirements:

use open or full face helmet meeting one of the following standards:

• AS/NZS 1698:2006 OR AS/NZS 1698 - CERTIFIED BY SAI GLOBAL (‘5’ TICKS)

Please note: SNELL M2000 and SNELL SA2000 will not be permitted for use
as of 1/08/2011.

“ANDRA is very supportive of the promotion of Drag Racing in regional areas
and recognizes the opportunities to showcase and grow the sport within the
Cessnock / Newcastle / Hunter Valley region of NSW,” said Brenton.

“Best wishes with all your plans to stage a safe and family friendly event.”

Stay tuned for more updates……

TROPHIES AND CASH FOR DRIVING EVENT WINNERS!
We will now be running full competition Powerskids and Burnouts with
trophies and prize-money for each. Trophies from First to 10th in the
Burnouts and for First and Second place in the Powerskids.

No, the entry fee will not be going up and will stay at just $40 until the
day. We have a bunch of kick-ass trophies for these events and will pay
$1000, $500 and $250 for top three places in the burnouts and $300 for the
best Powerskid on the day. We are still working on the drag racing licence
and will keep you up to date on this over the next few days!

************************************************** ***

With just two weeks to go to Revfest things are really on the wind up. As luck has
it our original date of the 31st looks like it would have been rained out anyway.

There’s some really exciting stuff happening behind the scenes at the moment. These
crazy guys from Team Cunning Stunts will be providing some awesome burnout and
wheel-stand demonstrations on their bikes and it looks like Team Armygeddon will be
attending the Revfest with a couple of their custom built burnout machines.

Locally, the boys at Kranky Kustoms have been on the tools to get Dayna Gough’s
burnout comp-winning, Clevo-powered XD up and running with a new supercharger and
injector hat. This fire-breathing monster should really stick it to the boys in the
burnout and Power skid demonstrations.

Other cool cars from the same stables would surely include Dan Cox's, Morris 8
Hot Rod. It’s got a tunnel-rammed 350 Chev up front with pretty smick custom trim.
The car is currently on the front cover of Nitro magazine.

Also from Kranky Kustoms is Peter Bink's, immaculate VG Valiant Hardtop. The 265
Hemi-powered couple probably wont get a run in the driving events but will be a
welcomed addition to the Show and Shine.

One of the big hitters that has confirmed his attendance is Frank Mamone and his
10.5 hemi-powered, blown and injected Chevy Nova. This hard-charging USA streeter
car will have the crowd screaming for more when he amps it up in the Power Skids.

Summernats Tuff Street winner, Rodney Waters will be bringing his amazing, 1500hp,
blown and injected, 632ci big-block Chev-powered HQ streeter and Rodney has
assured us of a big show with this car.

We’ve got loads more happening and we will update daily as we get closer.

For families, we’ve organized a bunch of kids rides so there is something for
everyone at Revfest. Just a reminder that if you want to enter the Show and Shine
with your car for free, you MUST fill in and entry for and email or post it in to us.
If you are unsure whether your car qualifies, you should email us a pic.

Stay tuned for more updates.

yeah it was a bit of a disappointment!!... the burnouts were good though! but in the whole 5 hours i was there there was only about a bit over an hour of stuff actually happening on the track, and the only people that could even see what was happening were the people in the front row off the crowd or the really tall people beacause there was no stands and i got sun burnt and blistered to a crisp waiting for everything to begin............i dont think it was worth the $35 dollars per person
.
