I take it for $50k the engine isnt standard? if its not... no engineers certificate as it wont pass emissions.
If its a DEAD STOCK RB26DETT it can be engineered, must use stock computer, turbos etc.... and needs a brake upgrade. This is for Victoria - but cant imagine the laws being a whole lot different in NSW.

Autosport Engineering in sydney are good, they will engineer and blue slip all at once, i think its $950 for both all up, and can also alter your car so meet engineering specs for you, (02)95211388 ask for greg.... they will engineer most of the things on your car which is the one that was on car sales right?, but like morgz said you cant engineer an after market ecu but he will go through that will you anyways.
cheers

Col Potts Engineering 0428421065 (located in Wollongong) He has engineered a few VLTs on here & has engineered 20" wheels, lowering & other stuff which i didn't even think was legal.
Also, CONSULMOTIVE Engineering (I think they might also be located in Wollongong)

BTW, how the hell can an engineer give you a price just like that? |

If you have larger wheels or have changed your diff ratio's u will need to get your speedo calibrated. If u have a larger turbo, fuel reg, u need to get an emissions test done. If u have a front mount it needs to sit in line with the bottom on your front bar and all holes in ur bay need to be reinforced, etc... I think it costs around $100 for each modification you want to get engineered. E.g. Wheels, Steering Wheel, larger turbo, brake upgrade, shifter, front mount, etc... Goodluck. |

when you say $100 for each mod to get engineered, do you mean literally each mod? e.g. different exhaust manifold, intake manifold, throttle body, external wastegate. Because that would get extremely expensive very quickly

I think exhaust/exhaust manifold is under the same category and i'd say that the plenum and throttle body would be combined, but i may be wrong. Id also say that the wastegate & turbo would be combined... It really comes down to how many mods you have made, but yes, it is very easy to rack up an $800 bill for an engineer's certificate! |
