OzDrift GP

A major Australian drift event …at Australia’s toughest drift track!

Australias best drivers are set to launch an interstate raid on Tasmania's inaugural OzDrift GP, where they’ll face off against the state’s finest talent at Hobart’s Baskerville Raceway, a track many say is the best kept secret in Australian drifting.

The lure of big prize money has already generated a considerable amount of interest both locally and interstate. With a total of $15,000 prize money up for grabs, including $5,000 to the Pro Class winner, it will be Australia’s richest drift competition.

The two biggest names are confirmed; Holford Motors entry Luke Fink from Melbourne has won every major contest in Australia this year. Fink is a former World BMX Champion who has taken the sport of drifting by storm, even winning his first ever major drifting event at Symmons Plains.

The other big name is the sensation from SA’s Barossa Valley, Jake ‘Drift Squid’ Jones. He came from nowhere in 2008 and has had a sensational year in 2009 winning the final round of the SA Drift Championship with a third in the G1 Championship, second in the Vic Drift Series and third in the Drift Australia event.

Other top ten hopefuls include four Tasmanians. Ben Purtell is synonymous with drifting in Tasmania and could finish close to the top. Mark Rogers and Josh Prizeman will be right amongst the action at the pointy end of the competition, but the 16 year old Lloyd Smith has been in winning form at the local rounds and could be the surprise package amongst his older and more experienced competitors.
Kudar Elhadli from Melbourne is also very competitive on a good day in his awesome V8 Nissan Silvia. He has the horsepower, but he will need to be on the top of his game around the tight, uphill drift corners at Baskerville.

With a value packed 2 day program on 21st & 22nd November, there will be something for everyone. The event has 2 separate drift classes, ‘Pro’ and ‘Street’.

There will be plenty of entertainment throughout the weekend with non-stop action on and off the track, including a Big Entry competition, Team Drift, Drift Attack, an Interstate Challenge, Time Attack and extreme motorcycle stunts.

Don’t miss any of the action the inaugural OzDrift GP is going to be BIG!!!!
