New VZ SS... ALREADY?

It seems Holden is definitely struggling with the VY series.

A good quality car doesn't need to be updated very often. Just look at European and Japanese cars, they're updated far less then any American or Australian built cars. This is also one reason why Japanese cars keep their value so much better, because new models aren't released every few months, unlike Holden's Commodore range.

This if what Ford did with the AU Series Falcon. AU, AUII & AUIII in a short space of time. Holden is now doing the same, which may create hype & publicity, but at the end of the day, it just shows Holden's quality isn't as good as it maybe should be.

Looks good, none the less.

Yeah it's a shame holden bring out models so close together, must cost em a fortune in design and parts remanuacturing.
It's doesn't look very different from a VY, but I spose holden always bring cars out and leave the same basic shape for 2 models: VN/VP VR/VS VT/VX VY/VZ.
Why would anyone buy a new car? when you only have to wait a year and get something similar for 2/3's the price.

At least Holden have some order to their naming, Ford like EL, AU, BA.
LOL. They must just pick letters out of a hat or something. :P

what lets this shape doen the most is the carry over VT roof. Doesn't fir the squarer shape of the rest of the panels.

Bring on the new VE.

i know - someone smack some english into him!

The VE is the next car form holden after vz, there going to go through the letters that haven;t been used, e,f,i,j,m,o, etc.

I think the front looks like the ba front - have a look at 351's avatar then look at the forntal pic of the vz.

looks like a mazda, that thing on the front guard is very BMW, it reminds me of a BA in profile.

*shrug* I don't like it, but it's all been downhill since they stopped making LX Toranas IMHO, with the VL being the only bright spot

Yeh i don't think i would ever buy a new car, just my view on it. I hate the VY Commodore and don't like the look of VZ either. VT and VX looked nice in my opinion. The VY HSV cars look nice but there such a rip off. Monaro is the nicest car their making at the moment for a fraction of the cost of an R8 or something like that. Apparently Holden are releasing at the end of this year or start of next year the new V8 being called the LS2 motor. Apparently its going to be 6.2L and most problery will be used in the HSV GTS or clubsport before it reaches SS commodores, etc. Apparently the next R8 is going to have 300kw, which means their might be something drastic planned for the overpriced GTS or it might seize to be produced with the GTS having to be ordered then made these days. Holden are releasing finally the new V6 which is supposed to be good with better fuel economy and power planned. Just have to see although i'm not that intrested in the things, overpriced and don't go that well.

apart from the typos, I was referring to the fact that the VY (and now VZ) still have the same round roof design as the VT/VX and it's the wrong shape for the squarer panels on these models. Looks pretty clear to me (typo's aside) what I was saying and hasn't anyone else noticed that the roof shape hasn't changed since VT??

So who's gonna be first up to "smack some english" into me?? lol. bring it on.

As PSHHHT stated here the models are the same shape, but also every second pair is the same body also, VB,VC/VK and VL were all the same body as were the VN,VP,VR,VS its just the guards and light etc. that were changed,

i hope im right lol

same as the AU series and BA's all the same doors etc

Too true... apparently, since remaking the monaro, rumor is that once there finished making commodores, there gonna start re making toranas

I reckon it looks alright.

However, Commodores and Falcons are losing their uniqueness. They're looking more and more like European style cars every model.
