Previous post back in 2007.. I've now done 100,000km's and its still holding together without a crank collar. BUT it never sits on the limiter. The hardened gears + the limiter is what breaks the N1...

VG30DET turbo from an importer is a better bet. But why bother when you have to stuff with a new dump pipe, oil lines etc?

Throw a stock vlt turbo back on it or spend 1k on yours highflowing it. :)

I had the stock suspension in it until the odo had 290k on it. Back then it was making around 260rwkw. It was dangerous as it felt as if it would steer from the rear and under brakes it would nose...

R32's fetch close to the same as an R33 these days.

R33 is definitely the way to go. Better motor gearbox etc.

The R32's need a fair bit of $$ spent on them in the motor and gearbox department...

The rb25det pistons run a different comp height (they sit lower in the bore) so it will work but definitely not optimal.

Just sell the 25t bottom end as they always break ring lands. Some P plater...

Back when I built mine the crank collars were only available from Japan and were $600aud each. :S

I went with a s/h new looking Rb25det oil pump. So far so good 7300rpm limiter (shift at 7000rpm)...

The DOHC RB's tend to break oil pumps if they don't run a decent balancer with high rev's. Same goes for track RB26's that are pulled...

Its more the mid range area under the curve which is where the 3.8ltr excels.

They make good power but just don't seem to hang in there for all that long.
