Freight Companies

*can this get made sticky please*

Just want to know some recommended freight places in Qld.

Having a bit of trouble at the moment, I need to get Calais seats and Front from Brisbane to Rockhampton. Not having too much luck finding a cheap joint that does personal deliveries.

OVL087 27-07-05 09:29

anyone who has had large items freighted ,please leave the company name and a number if possible in this thread.

just note what u had freighted and a cost involved.

Lazza78 27-07-05 09:47

hey bex i woulda thought u had that cal front up there by now... send me pics when u get it on the vl mate...

Larry

Followmonts Transport & Fitzroy Taxi Trucks run daily service from Brisbane to Rockhampton. They will be your cheepest by far as they are the companies that majority of Linehaul companies use for there cross docking in Rocky, any other company will charge their fees plus what one of these company charges for cross docking. If you don't have any luck PM me & I will work something out for you.

Thanks,

And nah Larry, Johns had it and I was waiting until I got the interior until I got it sent up. Just sending the car in to get resprayed now so I need it a bit more urgently then I did before.

As for the freight companies, does anybody know what NQX's deal is?
I've dealt with them on a few occassions and they've sent stuff away for me. I remember sending a manual conversion to Melbourne for 60 dollars. And now all of a sudden they're saying they don't do private jobs. Thats mega ghey.

Pack and Send will do anything, anywhere..... at a price.

example: series 2 bottom end to Kentucky, USA = $730 shipping alone, to get it there by air in 2 days was $2000+

Bax 27-07-05 12:42

Yeah I haven't had much luck with pack and send to be honest. They're prices are always ridiculous. But I guess if your keen your keen.

What the hell were you sending a block to kentucky for?

StockyMcStock 27-07-05 13:43

guy with an RB25DET wanted a 3L bottom end - nonetheless after emailing him back with the above quote he did not reply again :)

now i have a guy in Israel interested in it.

John-O 28-07-05 17:20

pack send blow goats...

they wanted $320 to send a calais front up...

farking thieves!

MadVK308 28-07-05 17:29

I use McCafferties bus freight, they do most of the eastern seaboard...

Paid $100.00 for 2 seats to be freighted from Melbourne to Cairns (Northern QLD)

Bax 28-07-05 20:31

They wanted 120 for extractors to be sent to Brisbane for me.. I just don't know where to go.

My panel beater mate is going to look into his usual methods for me.

I use fastaways the only catch is you pay say $300 for there labels [20] excess labels [20] they will pick from anywhere & deliver to anywhere & it works out relatively cheap for instance i sent a crank pistons rods [v8] to melb from cairns cost $50
they have a weight limit of 25kg per item & there labels are insured for up to $1500
if something goes astray or broken the only catch is you need to buy the minnimum amount of labels but its no problem because you will probably use them enough to get your money's worth.
For bigger items i use NQX sent a diff from cairns to brissy $85 a v8 block cairns to melbourne $85 had a diff sent from sydney to cairns $120 thats all depot to depot & you will need to use a registered buisness name as they dont handle stuff without useing it for some reason which is easy because you use the place you work for or a friends buisness place & can still pay for the freight on the spot.

John-O 30-08-05 13:59

the joys of having an ABN

i ring up NQX the other month and they said they dont do private frieght...

so i called Pack Send and they are like... yep we can send that... $320 please...

then i realise... hang on, i have an ABN, im a retard i can use NQX...

one phone call later, the calais front is on its way for only $44.

How much do you want to pay. I used canberra carways and even though they weren't fantastic, they were the cheapest between rocky and newcastle.

Antho 11-04-06 12:19

K & S Freighters are good for long distance and interstate shipping.

I sent a full LE bodykit to Perth for $120.
They sent a Semi around to my house to pick it up, went via Melbourne and Adelaide, then the Semi dropped it off at the other fella's house.

4 x 17 inch rims in boxes shrunk wrapped onto a small timber pallet

Hunter Express, two day service from Ballarat to Brisbane

$43 bucks freight.

aquabat 16-07-06 22:06

From Ballarat to Townsville, NQ it cost $150 for x 18" x 8" rims with tyres through NQX.

I have also used them to send a set of pacemaker extractors to NSW somewhere, it cost $80 for those.

I wonder how much it would cost to have an engine from down south palleted up here? $500 easy?

Jason.

Zorbskie 16-07-06 22:50

I got whole VL frieghted from Brisbane to Roma (Roughly 600k's) for $275. The company was Autotrans Part of Toll Ipec, they just have some contractor run it out. The car is lowered and has a body kit, got here with no damage at all, just need a bath from all the soot of the truck :p
