Under the current laws, you're still not allowed a Gen 3.

Calais_Nv 11-06-07 13:10

good thread, that learner log-book is a load of **** but

BUMBAGZ 11-06-07 13:29

wot power r standard vlt's putn out?

MARMO. 11-06-07 13:32

a wooping 150flywheel kw

emmeck 11-06-07 13:37

yer n i think that ends up being about 130 rwkw

HDT-VLCLE 11-06-07 13:40

which makes them more than legal. with the ratio being 125kw per ton.

And its actually 148fwkw ;)

boostdVL 11-06-07 15:58

So as of July 2007, all people that get their p's after that date are effected by the new hoon laws? restricted cars etc

-parky- 11-06-07 16:22

the power to weight only applys to people who get their p's BEFORE the new laws. people who get it after july (myself included) canot drive a turbo supercharged v8 or high powered six (i.e sv6). bit of a bummer.

and lol my 47yo dad just got defected in his magna.

picketvlt 11-06-07 16:45

boostdvl you could still drive a gen3 if u really wanted to but u run the risk of 3 demerit points and a maximum of $1100 fine, remember u only get 5 points on ur p's so if ur dun speeding or wateva thats ur license gone

NTONIO 11-06-07 17:49

If you run thru a red light camera in your LS1, You will loose your licence too.

Its not worth it to buy any car police know come factory high powered.

Elnicos 13-06-07 16:04

AWESOME!! i thought i couldnt have an 8 or turbo after the first of july, but looks like i can (all ready have P's) spewin for you L plater's but ahh well, probably a good thing :P Seriously though, you'll be glad in a few years when your still alive, not in jail, or paying off thousands on a car that you borrowed money to get, then crashed. If it makes sence.

I have looked on the sticky thread in the VIC section about hight powered cars, but it didnt have it there. Just wondering what is the newest Holden v8 that you can have? any SS'? how new could i go without going over the limit? (under current power to weight laws)

haha, you can talk mr crash.

You can drive a VS 185kw car, that's about the limit. VT 5 litres etc are ok cause of the weight.

ZanSta 14-06-07 18:22

For everyone that wants to know it's 109ish RWKW for a STOCK VL turbo...you lose 30% give or take by the time the power goes from the fly wheel to the diff

[XXXR8D] 14-06-07 18:27
