door trims will be painted 2 pac white and will hold a set of 6.5" mb quartz Q-line splits and a alpine type r woofer also to provide more lower end frequency as quartz are known for being a little tinny.

type r woofer will be running 60-120 hertz only

will post some more pics later and explain full system also if you guys are interested cheers dave

question: how do you open the doors from the inside? haha nah sweet job mate, should look tops. have you thought about covering with material insted of just paint? paint might get scratched.. good job all the same!

EvilPet 02-03-09 15:19

Who did your door moulds mate?

Exactly what I want done to mine BUT I have a roll of original trim.

ADICTIV 02-03-09 15:51

ive got door poppers for opening from inside... still not sure if ill use them though might integrate some chrome or satin vz handles into them..

car is only for weekends so definately paint is the go.. looks better at shows too :D

I built the door moulds mate probably 20 hours of work in them already and still only got first coat of glass on them

thanks for comments guys ill post somemore stuff later

Stevo 88 02-03-09 17:17

Looks pretty awesome so far. But i agree with magoo - upholstery would be the go, especially since it's a Calais.

ADICTIV 02-03-09 18:49

nah i love the painted look :D dash will be painted too (big job though too scared to start that bit yet ;)

Heres a set of door pods i just built for a mates vx.... just to give u guys a taste of the finished product.. :)

had to make fibreglass surrounds to fill gaps around the rear seats these will also be painted :)

EvilPet 02-03-09 23:50

If you want some extra cash to help me with EVILPET's front door trim cards / fibreglassing let me know. I have all the original cloth and leather that another mate of mine will finish off. Just need the door card made up / fibreglassed.

evilpet- thanks mate, as much as id like to work on an original aero, ill have to pass..... the reason my car has already taken 4 years to get to this stage is the continous amount of cashies ive been doing and 3 months ago i finally started saying no and my car has progressed more than ever.. :)

DOG 21- thanks mate i was starting to think i was posting oto many pics :p

Rear mounts are made and welded of box tubing, i built them myself and took bout 2 days to make... as u would know the floor is not flat in the rear cause of exhaust clearance and all. so every mount is of different lengths and took ages to get right. but well worth it :D

http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...newpics161.jpg
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...newpics163.jpg

nuts are welded to the frame and bolts come up through the floor with strengthing plates underneath also :D

thanks for the comments guys cheers dave

No worries. I like what I've seen so far so I'm sure it will all turn out sweet in the end. Well if you know anyone that can do the job as good as your handiwork I need my doors done in September this year when I'm back in town.

ADICTIV 03-03-09 17:43

yeah q line splits rock :D just a little tinny for my liking.. thats why im goin with a type r woofer also.

Doors have probably taken bout 20 hrs so far... the woodwork has to be perfect to begin with or there no point  they still only have first coat also so much work left to do....

evilpet- i have a mate that can do it too... i'll give him a call and ill let u know....

at this stage i should probably let u guys know that i did custom car audio and electrics for over 8 years for a job.... and are now in construction so now its a hobby i spose :p

thanks for all the comments guys dave

DOG*021 03-03-09 20:00

DOG*021 06-03-09 00:55

this is good work ! what are you doing between top sau and back shelf ? please keep pic coming i feel i am watching a legand being born

ADICTIV 06-03-09 02:01

the back shelf is moulded up to the rear of the seats themselves and the top of the box flows back at the top to meet the lower curve in the shelf... ill have a look and see if ive got a pic of the shelf with no window in :D

Thanks for your comments man :D great to hear u guys like it when im spending so many late nights out there:rolleyes:
