EVLRB30 02-03-10 18:40

yeah it was allen engineering got the engine home now just had to put a drain plug from the head to sump its ready to go back in the car now;)

its making 950hp only on 32psi and 740nm torque so im happy with that for now:D

ANK 02-03-10 18:44

great power man well done!! what did yo rev it to

Jet R31 02-03-10 18:46

Lot more than the others, what cam did you end up using, jpc or something different
cheers
darren

EVLRB30 02-03-10 18:49

just took it to 7500rpm im using a crow solid cam. he was very impressed with how it behaved!

Jet R31 02-03-10 18:52

So its a jpc designed cam then, its not the 503660 LC 117 grind?
cheers
darren

EVLRB30 02-03-10 18:54

yeah i would think so i brought it straight from crow and got the rockers from jpc im extremely happy with it:D

ANK 02-03-10 18:57

take your rocker off and cheek your gaps with your lifters

Jet R31 02-03-10 18:58

240 duration and 510 thou lift, thats the one i got, with the roller rockers.
KD 747 has gone 8's with it.

The next size up was way to wild for me 250ish @.50 and nearly 600 thou lift..lol..way to get a single cam head to flow some numbers..rofl

Well done, sounds like a nice setup
cheers
darren

XCHASE 02-03-10 19:01

You could almost tow a trailer with that. Wish mine had that much horsie powerz. But somehow my read out said i have more torque? NFI how that works. Im sure the bible man will tell me. *Awaits reply*

EVLRB30 02-03-10 19:02

cant remember exactly ill have a look later. yes ank i have adjusted the rockers again all is good:D

ANK 02-03-10 19:04

make sure you keep doing it man

Jet R31 02-03-10 19:06

^^^yep the reason i got rollers, heard of to many stories with those
adjustable standard ones, **** losing a motor for a extra 600 ish dollars
cheers
darren

ANK 02-03-10 19:09

the stock moded ones are better

i personaly think it has to do with the metal there made out of we asked mark about it at calder he told us he doesnt have a problem with them lol

grunter01 02-03-10 19:11

what is that cam and lifters worth?

jbonez 02-03-10 19:30

This makes window tint look good.

EVLRB30 02-03-10 20:21

roller rockers wernt available when i brought this set up.. ank why do you say the standard ones converted are better?? ill be checking them all the time ;)

ANK 02-03-10 20:23

cause i have seen what happens first hand with both types

EVLRB30 02-03-10 20:30

and what is that?? darren my cam looks to have a little more lift than the one your talking about

Yeh i checked the camcard, 520 thou of lift. But i always remember 510
because that what it actually has once it was setup in the motor and measured. Do run the .022 valve lash?

My turbo is a bitsa i got made to what i wanted, its a Gt4294, but with a 71mm borg warner billet wheel. Same size as the gt4294 wheel roughly that flowed 850hp that i had, but this flows 925hp at same rating and i think 975hp at 30psi, as its a high pressure wheel it loves boost.

Gt4202 flow 950hp at the same rating as this ones 925hp. i just wanted a good pump fuel turbo and this in the states is meant to be the best (precision basically sell it as a 71GTS). if i wanted to drag it, i would have gone for a 76-80mm turbo(probally a 78mm)

How long did JPC take to do you mani etc, they took 12 months to get me a intake mani modified with the 90mm throttle body..crazy
cheers
darren

EVLRB30 03-03-10 10:19

im running .016 rocker clearence as recomended on the cam chart .022 is way to loose.. its got about 530 thou lift. I brought my intake manifold secondhand but new! cant beleive you had to wait 12 months!

Jet R31 03-03-10 16:54

Mine says .022..., but that sounds excessive, will be giving Mark a call
to ask him what he sets them to before i start it next century..lol
cheers
darren
