Very Simple answer to that one. The Polarizer was part of an optional package known as the Plus Pack.

Also if theres Peter Brocks signature on the SS Group A sticker on the front guards then its a plus pack(plus the polariser under the bonnet) http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i244/oma72/misc/Grpa_whl.jpg Holden Group A minus the polariser http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i244/oma72/misc/Grpabdge.jpg the signature should be underneath the SS Group A,only going on what a mate with a SS VL Group A once told me years ago. I'm sure Corsa will correct me if i'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure that there was also a "Plus Pack" sticker that was on the front nosecone also. Either way they are a stunning car

Anyone should be able to answer that one, the polarizer itself did f*ck all

I believe there have been other devices similar to the polarizer tested over the years some well and trully after the brock one. Someone i use to work with looked into investing in it. Although even he laughed at the brock claims of molecular alighnment, better fuel use etc or what ever. The device he looked at had some researched merit.I think it consentrated on electrical charge of the car or something. Not sure on the details. So although brock did lose the plot he may not have been to far away from a valid idea.

I've been doing some research on the brock/holden VL SS Group A-looks like i could be wrong about the signature only on the pluspack and kalais6 you are correct about the sticker on the nose cone.here are some pics i have found. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i244/oma72/vl%20ss%20group%20a/109fronton.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i244/oma72/vl%20ss%20group%20a/109closeup.jpg holden VL SS Group A http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i244/oma72/vl%20ss%20group%20a/3782pluspack.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i244/oma72/vl%20ss%20group%20a/3782front.jpg pluspack Brock

Half of the non plus pack models have ended up with the signatures on the side so you can forget using that as a way to identify them. Original Build Sheets would be the best way, but certain other features can be used as a good indication although it is possible they could have been replicated since new. I have owned both polarized and non Polarized Brock's. At the end of the day the ones with the polarizers will hold a higher value due to the novelty value. I won't comment on how the Polarizer is suppose to work as you might as well ask me to explain the universe to you. ;)
Sly is on the right track, as many others have tried similar ideas and there are many products on the market using similar methods in one form or another.

I remember about 6 years ago when i was selling Holdens for a local dealership we had a Plus Pack on consignment. I was the only guy in the yard that understood what it was that we had in front of us. This car was stunning and only had 22000kms on it. Luckily I got to drive it quite a few times and loved every second of it. Back then I think the guy was asking $25K for it !!! Just about double that for them now.

Nice car, not worth 45K without the polarizer though.

That last group a is fautless. Its just the way the muscle car prices have gone there is nothing we can do about it. If you want the car thats what you'll have to pay.

Thats cool Kalais6-yeah i agree with you about the HDT VL's.If only i had a four car lock up garage i would've also bought one and a VN Group A to round off my collection as they were cheaper in the middle of last year.

What word of this has anything to do with the VL Grp A Brocky polarizer!?!!?

The polarizer was sorta on track, but the one's on VL's did nothing. They were ment to realign the electro magnetic charge of the car to one direction (or closer too) giving it better handling / fuel econmey etc. But If you had one the booklet that came with also claimed that you should only have 24psi in your tyres or something stupid like that - now wouldn't that feel harder to steer with!? not to mention WORSE fuel econmey :p

Corsa
27-01-07, 23:13
The 22psi tyre pressures had nothing to do with the Polarizer and was applicable to quite a few non Polarized cars that Brock built. The pressure was recomended by Bridgestone for use on vehicles with a certain suspension setup. One of my other VL's actually has 26psi on it's tyre placard which would also be considered a very low pressure by todays standards.

...i have done extensive research on the polariser, and the primary function of the unit was to give the driver of the vehicle an inherent ability to pull hot bitches at any rev range...

whether at idle at the drive in cinemas, or at revs, whilst lacing some strips out the front of Maccas, it just seemed to draw a mole to a pole... hense, the 'Polariser.'

This is also why the Grp A was so popular amongst the ethnic community.
We cant pull a root by conventional means.. so Brock saw the market and capitalised on it.
