man my car must be a massive sleeper. either that or there's some stupid people in SA. seems my car is a magnet for stock v6 vn's to want to drag. I think i've gotta get some bigger wheels and dump it.
Just cant stand some stocky thinking they have a chance. You guys having same thing happen? I mean a drag is a drag it seems everytime i'm in the calais the fast cars want a drag (and it's just a stock 5 ltr dont go that good) and when i'm in the turbo all the bombs want a drag.
I dont go looking for the drags either they seem to find me lol.
put a muzza cooler on, and it will fix it
also put yor number plate to the side of the front bar.and cut out the front bar for a truck cooler.
and then just hit them with a big fat hecktick dose haha just joking.

lol it has a cooler it's just tucked under the bumper. they soon realise they made a mistake.
I ran a skyline in melb there was 2 people in the car and the passenger waved to me as he took off and i waved as i went by heh.
maybe it's fun being a sleeper heh.

nah it's white. it has VS esteem wheels on it atm. will have 19inch cv8r's on it on the weekend.

Did you get back on the dyno this morning?
the software seems stuffed for the ecu. so we never got it on the dyno yesterday. I need to chase up some software that works properly. john tried it on a few computers just wouldn't read a thing when connected. sucks bad :(
EMS. the software from the website seems stuffed. says it's online when it's not and wont read. we were pretty confident we had the right cables for it.
ems is dodgy **** in my experience.is the mechanic your using an ems specialist?
saw the car today, not a sleeper any more with those rims man, very proud!!
nasty tomorrow i'm gonna give that boostin oz a call as they are ems distributors in SA. maybe they can shed some light on the problem. big pain in the ass heh.

Tell me more, via pm to avoid workshop wars stuff, I haven't heard about this, but I tend not to read the paper and have only been in town 2 or so years. The work done there on my coon was good, wasn't perfomance, just a straight gas conversion.
Was thinking of taking the dunnydore there as they do gas research installs and tuning.
I think they look after or sponsor another local commodore club.

They do sponsor a commodore club but not COCC.
I personally dont know anything on towler.
They do , do Gas reaserch and (because i drive past it) there is another business in the north that does gas reasearch as well. This other business other than a sign out the front has no advertising that it does gas reaserch.
Its on bridge road , near where JV crash used to be.
But i know about as much about that business as towler but it never hurts to get a quote and a chat.
my old VLT was a sleeper. only thing that wasnt stock was the wheels which were only 16" VT Calais rims. only problem with that was that it attracted so many bogans in their VN's. thankfully a small squeeze of the acellerator saw them left far behind.

its a fact mate i know 2 people 1st hand that its happend to and 2nd it was also in the paper.
well i took the car down to Boostin Oz today. I'd been having issues with the way it was running kept thinking the leads were not making good contact. We took the plugs out and found a plug looking all black. Quick compression check and it wasen't the engine (thank god) put new plugs and gapped them right started the car and same problem still missing and not running on all cyclinders. We take of the injector plug from the same plug that was black and it ran exactly the same. so we check the wiring it was so friggen dodgy u had to see to beleive. anyways we fixed it and car was running ok. BUT still running roughly at idle. injector 1 looked to have a crack in the seal a quick spray revealed a vaccum leak coming from there.
So now the car is sitting in the shop with the manifold off waiting for some new injector plugs to arrive from sydney. hopefully by tomorrow afternoon it will be on the dyno. I'm seriously doubting the power figures previous owner said. It looks like maybe 240rwkw with the current set up. got some plans early in new year to fit custom plenum top mount turbo electronic boost controller and external waste gate. It's all money i guess but will be well worth it in the end.

what power was u told?he found my problem in my vl the ems was ***d.was there for 2days and one whole day on dyno and charged me around 180 not to bad.did u have it there last thursday?
nah i went there early last week.
previous owner claimed nearly 300rwkw but dennis dont think anywhere near that. With the work that gets done next year it should be close to the mark then. He seems to know his engines well especially gemini engines with big fat turbos. glad it will be sorted though.
Oh yeah and my car dont have a power transistor/ignitor it's built into the ems computer but have been advised to send it back to sydney and get them to remove the ignitor part on the circuit board and go back to old set up. so that will be done in new year also.
