Theres plenty around but only a handfull of really nice ones. Theres probably heaps more I don't know of though. I have plenty of mates who drive them. I'm sure we could organise to get a few people together if you were keen.

What do you class as one then???

I was in Melbourne for the Grand Prix and only saw 2 VLT's the whole time I was there. One was a bucket and the other was tidy as.

VLHERO

www.dragwaytasmania.net

Its an ANDRA sanctioned track so the usual cage under 11 seconds, etc applies. Long sleeves, trousers and helmet. Next meeting is the Test & Tune in August as it closes over winter.

i have a vlct. id like to consider it a pretty nice one, but its probibly not up to vlhero's standards because apparently there arent any good ones around. theres ex BOOSTR, flat 10 second vlct now getting around hobart, but that wouldnt be any good either otherwise it would have gotten a mention from vlhero.

ryan and baz both have awesome vlt's. theres also a black one with 300rwkw. few others about...

Andy would you expect anything else from someone like VLHERO who drives round with their head up their arse.

Your car might be stock but its macco and actually a real Calais.

BOOSTR (which doesnt really count being mainland built)

Doesn't really matter, it lives here now!

Still a mainland car. Pretty sad that no one in Tassie has built a decent high HP VLT. $18,500 would've built something pretty special.

I would class nice as a mixture of tasteful good looks and performance. The only half decent cars I have SEEN like that down here are BOOSTR (which doesnt really count being mainland built), Millington's, and the purple VLCT on the gold 18's. Baz's is definitely up there but isnt quite as pristine these days as what it has been in the past. Ryan's has got the power but the chrome rims and traditionalist styling really let it down.

Andy, I didnt say there wasnt any nice VLT's round I said I hadnt seen any. Ive never seen your car but I'm sure its nice.

Ryan, you are a deadset f*ckhead mate. Have I ever said my car was a real Calais? NO. Have you ever seen my car? NO. Do you even know what the f*ck your on about!? NO.

And wtf is "macco"?? Sorry, Im not up with the Low Head lingo.

Well tell me how much "traditionalist" styling there is different between a lot of big name cars??? PLATNM, BOOSTR, VLGMH, RAJAB, etc???
All Baz's car need is a detail and how hard is a set of rims to change? Its not like I don't have other sets to put on.

And for me not knowing what I'm on about? Well I'd dare say I know a fair bit more than you ever will.

Macco, hmm well does an abreviation for the work immaculate come to mind?? I thought I'd leave a few letters off so you could actually pronounce it.

And $18500 would not build you much of a VLCT. Trust me because I have actually built my car up from scratch and its no where near the standard of what you would call an a decent high power VLT and has cost me a fair bit more than that.

PS PHS don't judge everyone on here the same as a certain individual.

yeh im thinking ill be headin down towards the end of the year cause im still tryin to get my car mods finish (bigger pump, injectors and tune) and save some cash to me and my car and cash for a week but im probly 90% sure ill be coming ill probly try and go around november - december

it would be sic if we could get heaps of other guys from this site to come too but i don't see it happen'n cause of how much it would cost im pritty sure its $90 one way per adult and $80 one way for the car but then ya need spendin cash fuel and accomodation,
but i think its worth it tassi's great but i don't think ill stay in such fancey place's as last time ie. freycient National park lodge, cradel mountian lodge
but it was good

the two tidy vl's i were refering to are currently living in dev, one 200rwkw, and the other well over 200, and mines not exactly a ****ter, well it is at the moment, just gotta fix that pannal... and guard.

You have to admit it that there is bugger all "nice" Vl's in Tassie, Plenty of bogan POS's with less power than a bowl of soggy nutrigrain. I think that the majority of good ones are owned by people who frequent these forums.. One thing though I did notice last time I was down is the massive increase in DAMN RICERS!!

2filthy3
22-06-06, 20:10
Oh yeah, true that the majority are pooh pooh vl's.
I guess the car scene down here is becoming a bit more like the mainland, with all the import cras and that, just ours are(n't) all running insane power levels.

SLY-PSI
22-06-06, 20:24
Isane power levels? back when I had my VLT it was running just a smidgen over 200RWKW, that was a bit over twelve months ago, it was proberly in the top four most powerfull VLT's Tassie had ever seen.. LMAO! I know that there are a couple more now that are making high 200's low 300's and kutz from Pro Automotive is in the 600hp area with his race car (speaking of which has anyone got any pics of it?)

I've got an engine bay pic from Baskerville last month. From the outside just picture a maroon VL with a Group A kit and walky bonnet scoop rolling on VY SS rims. Top quality 4" tig welded stainless exhaust, big brakes, etc.
