Is this the genuine #406? Seems to be some confusion over whether it is the real deal, i see on walkinshaw.net the owners and the former rego details are different to what is listed in the ad. Details seem sketchy at best....
if it is a walky, how sad :(
you'd cry if it was yours... =( sad state to see a walky
It may have been a walky but it is now a vl shell with some walky bits on it. unless you can get new tags its not worth much let alone 8000 reserve.
This is a 1988 commodore VL SS GROUP A WALKINSHAW we have just learned that the build no is 406 and it was originally a sydney car with the plate batmob and was painted black by owner 3 to 4 years ago we were also told from another ebay member that the car was stolen and recovered in a drug bust in WA it has no tags but does have a police number on the tower and the car can be re-registered it is a rolling body shell with HSV walkinshaw body kit and 16 " walky rims with good tyres are incuded in stead of these ugly alloy wheels the kit is complete less the front bar but the bonnet scoop is in the car it has no interior and will be sold less motor and no gear box and no diff but it will be rolling with a standard 6 cylinder disc brake diff and the 90 litre tank is not included in the sale the dash and instruments are in the car as are all the power windows and central locking are all intact it will come with keys and alarm remotes the 4 genuine 16" walkinshaw mags painted white in stead of silver the car has a little rust in under the boot rubber seal this would be a great car to do up as a drag car or street machine .
Everything worth anything is being ripped out anyway.. so you'd be paying 8K for a shell with a Walky Kit (less front bar) and no way to prove it is an original.. shame if it was. But no where near 8K's worth
i dont think it is a real walky who would pull of a ttb set up and put a holden one there????
also the tank,gearbox,interior and diff??
i think this guys is a fisherman cos i smell FISH
Real walkie. Check this thread for details.
i've seen this car in real life a fair bit and it always stood out. very sad.

but it say the car was the batmob in NSW not WA thats what i was lookin at dude :D
$8k reserve on that car according to the ebay add
I'm not sure how much it went for at auction but someone said $8k.
The car used to wear the plates batmobile here in WA. Check the pics half way down in the thread i posted before. the one shot was taken about 5 years ago when it was batmobile, the other was taken just before it was stolen then know as TWR SV.
It was sold at auction not that long ago in WA.
The pics in the ebay add are the same as the one's in the auction add from Pickles WA.
Stevie.
Oh yeah and it did go for 8K at auction.
You may as well buy another Walkinshaw complete...I doubt he will get $8000 bit too rich...
Yeh Rubin they are dreaming.
A Sydney wreckers that bought it from Auction for $8K and trying to recoup $
They'll sell the block etc seperately
Just checked it did go for $8k, I can't be ass'd checking up who the buyer was.
But $8k purchase, then damaged car buyers fee and transport = near $10k so yeah he is trying to get at least some money back.
Also the comp plates were removed as they didn't match engine and were returned to vendor.
what a rip off. i wouldn't pay anymore than $2000 for it, tell 'im he's dreamin'. all it is now is a commodore and not a walky
I spoke to the guy that is selling it on ebay now... he is chasing the build tags from HSV, and might get them. The car was TWR SV and was recovered a while ago from a wherehouse, with other cars (the yellow supercharged monaro was there also)
Doubt he'll get them and the chassis # is still a Police one
Goodluck getting the built tags...
Thats painful... If thats a real walky and some ****wit has gone and done that to it... I hope they enjoy sharing a room with hittler in hell...
He is close to getting the tags... HSV have told him i he can supply the original engine and chassis number that they will give him new tags... he has been in contact with the previous owner to get them, and he might be able to get them.....
there is nothing worth buying, everything has been taxed, and if there was
anything left he has taken it off and i bet you anything its in his shop...
no this, no that ppffft!!
the guy thats sellin this, is the owner of padstow auto wreck here in sydney,
the guy is the biggest dreamer ive ever met.... his prices are more expensive
than david jones ive been to his shop and everything there is rubbish!!!
when i went there he wanted $3k for a standard inj VN 308 V8 no harness
no box.....
i left the shop laughing and in stitches & i dont no how he keeps his business alive with those prices!!!!

So basically HSV will give him tags for any old walkinshaw if he supplies a matching engine and chassis number of a car. This might result in two cars out there with the same build number. I wouldn't be happy if HSV does that nor would the owner of any genuine intact car.
Not saying that one isn't genuine but it doesn't exactly have anything left to make it a worthwhile proposition for restoration.
Corsa
I see ya point, but thats what he told me on the phone.... Dunno really....
In other news there was a gts-r that was sold at auction yesterday for $15600.
Somehow I think that is better value then this by far.

I heard about that too, i spoke once of a plain VS GTS going at auction in Brissy for 14k and i got shot down by any number of 14 year olds calling me a liar...
Wonder what they would have to say to a GTS-R for 15k? :)
It was a stolen recovered with no comp/VIN or build plates, but had police numbers.
So i mean if you wanted the car without worrying about "omg HSV HSV" coz i mean lets admit it hsv is ****. It would be a hell of a cheap car compared to like vn v8s for like 10K haha.
haha i looked and its on ebay for 3k now
theyre also tryin to sell the walky 4bolt mains short motor for 3k :D
buy a brand new complete VT inj 5L for 3.5k
it said its rego plates were batmob i remeber ages ago i got in street commo mag there was a mint black walkinshaw if this is that car what a shame how can someone let this happen
Wow thats the rip off of the century , I reckon, For $8K you can buy a pretty
good VLCT ! thats a joke anything that was worth anything is gone !!!
that motor looks like a vn mtr.didnt know the walky mtr had the banana injection?how can u get new tags its just not posible?
the walky never had the aptly called 'bunch of bananas' manifold... i got the exact same question as pympn... how?
