Get some pics up mate, sounds sweet, would love to see it. The Walky is my alltime favourite car, but I'll never own one, maybe a retirement project to do one up in 40 years time. Then there will probably only be a small handful, all worth way more than what they are now, prices seem to be going up on the better examples.

I agree, I think the more original the better mine is pretty much exactly as it was when it rolled out the factory.

How much did they set you back? If you wanted that type of plate here in QLD your looking at about $2000.

$2000? Holly ****! NSW you charged $400 a year! Unless you are talking about a private seller.

sounds awsome mate, although i dont think that MRGRPA would be worth that much cos they only suite group a commodores, of which there is not very many. For a high price on a set of plates you need high demand, its the law of economics and that is why plates like MRGRPA wont be worth THAT much (still probs worth a few grand?) and plates like MRGTS would be worth a mint (as there is so many 'GTS' cars for example, meaning more people wanting the plates, meaning more demand, meaning a higher price can be asked for). Nevertheless, MRGRPA are very cool plates neways, i wouldnt be sellin em!

Nah thats not private sale, thats how much QLD transport charges for that type of plate but there's no annual fee, once you buy them they're yours forever.

so that makes em cheaper in qld than anywhere. if u had mrgrpa plates in qld and sold them after using em for 5 yrs i reckon u would get closer to 5k than 2k for em. that would meen they cost u nothing or -3000 bucks. and u nsw ppl think our plates are a rip. u guys pay yearly we own our plates.

u guys all get ripped off, we pay $190 and there yours!

if u don't have them on a car they cost u $50 a year 2 keep them in your name! or u could stop and hope no one copies them!

but if it's registered it cost's u nothing! used to only be $90 but bloody labour put them up!

that's up 2 7 letters!

In WA, it's cost $275 for aluminium (Max 7 characters) plates or $375 for polycarbonate (Max 9 Characters). Then they are yours, no annual fee's or anything, and if you take em off you car, you can store them for free.

But you never own the plates, you own the right to display that name.

atmo - you still have a lot to learn, look up some of the history on hsv and hdt group a's and then i think you'll change your mind.

vk, hdt and hsv vl, vn group a's etc, all race cars with a long and proud history.

Hi Steven..... replying to old message but hope you can help;) ;)

I now own Walky #654 (have done for the past 11 months). Can you help me out with any idea of the whereabouts of the owners manual. Was it still around when you had the car???? or just anything on its history.......where or who did you buy it from. Thanx heaps if you can supply any information

According to the build page on my site, it was owned by Warren & Sue in NSW.

I'll see if I can find the email that they sent in. Maybe you can contact them for some info.

Sorry to disappoint but this is not a shonk and I did purchase this car on 28 Jan 06. If Steven can contact me ownership can be proved.

Dont think the car was being referred to as dodgy (I own it and can assure you its not). I think someone thought my request was coming from a shonk.
If you know Steven, Scott to4, could you ask him to contact me. I would be really greatful if you could. Thankx for that.
