Maybe you guys in this Walkinshaw section can help me. I'm trying to find out if the diff I have is from a walkinshaw. I have been told it is, but need to confirm. Basically it has bigger than normal disc and they are vent and measure about 275mm and the calipers have the cooling fins like front calipers and the ratio is 3.45:1.
If you can help, there are photos of my diff in the 'for sale' section. How much would this diff be worth to sell.
Thanks in advance, Kevin
Hi Kevin, I don't think this diff is out of a walky as they have 3.08:1 ratio not 3.45:1. The rear brakes also look different to a walkinshaw. It could be out of a skyline maybe.
yup... what pjs is right...
best to take it to a diff place...
I had a look at a vn group a today and those rear brakes look exactly the same, also the vn group a used the same diff housing as the vl series commodore with 3.45:1 ratio, so i'm about 99% sure it's a group a diff. The broadcast code should be "BE" but it looks like yours is missing.

Pjs83 - thanks for checking this out. Looks like I should try selling it as a VN Group A diff. Are these diffs worth more than a normal LSD? Now I just need sell it and use the money towards a new motor in my car.
Have a great christmas, Kevin
The LSD part of the diff is the same as a normal diff the main difference is that the crown & pinion gears are shot peened wich means they're much stronger and more suited to racing conditions. As for price, it's probably not worth a whole lot more than a standard LSD, the larger finned brakes will ad a bit of value though!
I'd say it would be worth lots more than a std LSD... It's a group A diff!!!
If someone has $700, its yours. I'm not trying to get top dollar
and I know this is hundreds cheaper than buying one from a wrecker.
If interested call me (0413 135472) or reply to this thread so you can
have a look.
Kevin
If you were in Perth, I'd Take it! But the cost of getting it over here wouldn't be worth it. Plus xmas has me broke!
Good luck with the sale. Putting it in the For Sale section, might be a better option if you wanna get rid of it. I don't think you'll have a prob selling it!
Good luck!
