im getting bit worried about my car, as i'll be going to uni soon so parking is an issue etc,
ive just put in an alarm (Viper) which immobolises about 3-4 things etc

but then i come on here and read some poor blokes loose there VL's (get stolen) even though theyve got alarms and kill switches etc etc

so what can really be done to make ur car not possible to be stolen ???

i was thinking something to do with hand brake? because once ur in the car you can always push it away, if ya know what i mean..

is there anyway a kill switch can be hooked up to the handbrake?

there is no way you can make your car steal-proof. do a search, there a couple of threads floating around on this subject...

simple. get the injector relay and fuel pump relay, wire them inside the car (somewhere concealed, under the removable panel under the st/wheel is perfect) then whenever you leave the car take 'em with you. most people and pro thieves could wire around it but it would take a good 20-30 minutes.also change your start switch to somewhere hidden away from the key forcing em to hardwire the starter to. you cant stop em but you can slow em down substantially. between that and the alarm I think theyd give up and go elsewhere. just my 02c

Another idea is to put your club lock between the t-bar drive select and the hand brake. seems hard to do but if you have the right one it does actually fit. Im sure some smart ass is going to say 'oh thats crap they will break it off' to break the club lock you need a pole with something to lever against ie. steering wheel. But there is nothing solid to lever against. either that or just take the starter motor fuse out, swap 2 spark leads around (remembering which ones) and chain it to a tree.

Where theres a will theres a way. They wanna take it they will.

Cut off fuel and spark. Get a wheel lock, I'd like to see them grind through one of those.

I use a clutch and brake lock. Clamps down onto the pedal box and you can't depress any pedals. Also will need an oxy welder to break it off! However, can still drive the car without using clutch and brake but very difficult, especially in a car park. Cost me $100 and is made by NICE security locks.

put a pad lock between the shifter and the button you lift up, that way they cant move the shifter and drive the car-they might end up cracking the ****s and breaking something, but they might not get the car. Anything extra you do to prevent thiefs is better than nothing at all, its worked for me so far.( and what ever you do dont park your car in safeway car park on chapel. theifs hang around there, watch you park your car, and wait til you leave, then they take your stuff. 3800 stereo system gone!oh and of course no dum**** insurance)
