What r your opinions on the best qwuality 6x9's. Ive heard the pioneer 3ways are good.
i basically want the ones with the best base and clarity

NEVER use Pioneer 6x9's... they run a shallow cone and will be f**ked for bass.

What you want is an american brand like Kicker, VDO, or JL... they will sound a heap better.

I personally use the VDO 220watt 3-Ways and love them.

at the risk of making a **** out of myself, Rob , I don't know where you heard VDO were american ??? I'm pretty sure they are a sub company of Philips... which I thought was japanese.... although the name philips now that i think of it, sounds american haha umm well anyway, CLARIFY THIS FOR ME...
I have VDO 6x9's 220watters... 2 ways, they are good.

I've seen the EXACT same philips speakers as the shiney chrome VDO ones, just a different badge ;) A little like the Lexcen Commodore thing :D but, yeah they must be american although their headunits look european :)

Sorry to break it to ya the hard way mate,

But Jay was right... the VDO's are a sub company of Phillips, and the VDO speakers are made & designed in the US. Phillips is a Jap company but VDO is all US.

As far as i know Blaupunkt is on there own and has been for a while now.

So Jay was 50% right, and exchaser made a twat out of himself

I've got a pair of Philips 6*9 200 watters, and they sound aweseome. They cost me $130 last year.

Depends what your gunna run them off. If u run them off your head unit theres no piont spending 200+ on them as you cant get the sound quality form the deck. I had DLS speakers in my old vl. They win sound comps all over europe. They looked quality and felt quality. I was devestated, when my mates $49 special from strathfield. Kenwood 2-way 6x9s cained the crap out of the DLS. When i got an amp that was a different storey.
