My VLT has 2 amps, thermo(on a switch) and 600hp Bosch pump(cant think of the model) running off the battery. Everything works fine until I turn the lights on. The Batt voltage drops quickly and the car stalls. Turn the lights off and it is all good, holding about 14v. My alternator was reco'd last year(maybe stuffed again). I have a heavy duty batt. What are good batteries?

by the sounds of it puting a new battery in wont fix your problem, get your charging system checked out first, you altinator should bring the voltage up as soon as you turn the lights on.

Generaly with battries you get what you pay for, I have a "odysey" (spelling) battery in my VL, it is a fully sealed battery (can mount in boot legaly) I would recomend these batterys to anyone, they are expensive, bout $350-450, I didn't pay for mine so thats the only reason I got it

So if you disconnect your amps, can you turn your lights on with no worries?? It could be a short circuit in the headlight circuit if it still dies when you disconnect your amps and turn your lights on.....What power cable you got running to your amps? 4 gauge im guessing?.....If your alternator has been reco'd not that long ago than it should be able to handle that easy....

Im running 3 amps (draw 100+amps, when running flat nacker), I have 100W high beams on outside and 130W globs on inside (total of 460W / 12V = 38Amps) I can run my stereo and high beams (130A +) with a standard altinator no probs, the lights dim with the bass but thats all, you shouldn't be having a problem at all.

Yeah, Yeah, I know, I usually go over the top when I do stuff, 2 of the amps run my 4x 12" dual magnet/dualvoice coil subs. hehehe :P
