I'll hopefully be racing. Will be trying to better my 11.5 which i ran a couple of meets back, with a slipping auto.New Trimatic going in this week with 3500rpm stall, and stage 2 JPC cam being fiitted just before the nationals.
These mods should see the car making just over 300rwkw, and be cracking into the 10's.
Time will tell, but 99.9% sure i'll be racing.

Yeah, i know what you mean with the woman side of things! :D
I almost fell over this time, the other half said"I'll come out and see if you can run a 10, might bring you luck".(HOPE SO!! :D )
Like you said, not many quick vlt's in S.A, so i hope to be S.A's 1st vl turbo in the 10's without NOS.S.A's quickest and only 10 second VLT is 10.3(with NOS)
Time will tell.
Definately one event not to be missed, it's a chance to see the big boys run huge numbers.Seeing a VLT in the flesh run 8's and 9's is amazing. The sound, the wheel stand launches, giving me goose bumps thinking about it!1 :D

Hope to see you there mate.

PSI: im a bit behind you at the moment, but mine is bored 40 thou, forged pistons, gapless rings, aftermarket cam, ext. ported head, haltech, FMIC, catch can, bosch 600 fuel pump,
standard turbo and injectors (not 4 long), strengthened jatco.

Previous owner ran 12.7, with this setup....With 3.08 singler spinner diff, street tyres. He had the boost wound up a bit, but he tamed it back down to 8psi before i bought it so i didnt wrap it round a tree whilst still getting used to it!

Recent service and dyno tune....165rwkw @ 8psi

im planning on booking my car in in the next couple weeks for the next round of mods.... Gt35/40, hi mount extractors, 550cc injectors, ext. gate. Ive got everything sitting in my bedroom apart from the turbo!

where do you get all your work done? i thought about RPM performance, tilbrooks or ASE?

Platinum: Wheres this cruise kick off from? where to?

Check out www.vlsa.net (need to register to see the cruise details btw!). :)

It's nothing too serious heh, there are handful of us 'regulars' who always rock up, generally meet at bunnings mile end, bull**** for a while and then head off for bit of a drive and a BBQ or something. :) Even if people don't actually want to go for a drive still rock up for a chat. :)

Sounds pretty good to me!!
Get an LSD, with 3.7 or 3.9's and she'll be in the low 12's easy.Who made your manifold?? Are you going to go for the .82 exhaust housing or the 1.06?
I've got the .82 GT30(600hp rated)
ASE done all my manifolds.Big plenum, high mount manifold. He's not cheap, but quality work.
Never dealt with RPM, tilbrooks do good work. The turbo your looking at will be about $2,300 from memory.Get a quote from ASE and Tilbrooks, see whose cheaper, both do qualty work.ASE always take longer than what they say the job will take, trust me.
Speak soon,

Might come along to the cruise, see if i'm free at the time.
Not sure if i've got plans lined up for the long weekend yet.

PSI : Lsd's coming soon too. Bought my manifold from jet6 for $600. Im gonna go the .82, as it'll be mainly street driven with ocasional visits to the drags. Got a quote from ASE, they wanted $4700 to fit all my gear plus supple and fit the turbo and lines. Whereas RPM want about $3300. ($2190 4 the turbo) They want the car for a week.
wouldnt mind pricing tilbrooks, but somethings wrong with their email setup, i cant email them.

RPM do qual work too, they used to do all the work in the 'crazy convesion' section in hot 4's mag.

how are those pics coming along? wouldnt mind seeing ur engine bay too!

Yeah I tried to contact tilbrooks the other day - still havn't answered. Think I will also be taking it to RPM (andre mentioned them before, and they sound like the place to go). Just getting some intercooler piping done (and i/c fitted). :)

Nice one bro,You'll be cranking shortly. .82 hsg is the way to go,perfect street/strip combo. It's capable of 600hp, thats plenty i think.

I knew ASE would be a heaps dearer.I've had my stuff for a while now, before he moved to Edwardstown. His prices have gone thru the roof now.Bigger overheads now, he's got a few guys working for him now.
RPM do quality work too. They built that 2JZ yellow supra, plates (I8A4RE)runs 10.8.RPM wont stuff you around as much either. My car was in there for a month when he did mine. But looks killer, so can't complain.I think RPM would be a lot cheaper than Tilbrooks too.

Will get pics for you of car an engine bay once i get it back,Trimatis still getting built.Probable be late next week.
Will let you know when i do tho.

p.s, i can give you the name of another guy you might want to try.He does awesome work too, seen some killer examples. He owns a killer TE/TG Gem with a 350 in it.Runs 10's.Professional setup from his own home.Top bloke, charges about $30 per hour, thats almost half of anywhere else.Does all metal fabrication work, worth checking out, even if you go and see him yourself, see the kind of stuff he can do.I'll be seeing him myself shortly, he's as good as anyone out there.

Let me know,

i seen PSI down the drags a couple of weeks ago on a very hot afternoon, he spun the wheels for a quarter of the track. Reminded me of subzero at last years nationals. I'll be heading down the drags but just spectating, the mrs isn't happy but i wouldn't miss it for the world. It'll bo good to see some VL's, last year the only one was the JPC one from Melbourne i think but it was having problems. PSI's car is very nice, i have a VL turbo and my engine bay looks nothing like his, its a beautiful site. Would be good if we could get a VL cruise happening, I've been on plenty of cruises but none with just VL's. See you all down the natinal's!!!!!!!!!

Yeah that was me, spun the wheels about 1/4 track on my first run.Was spewin, would've looked ok, if you were a spectator!!
Only had 3 runs, with a best of an 11.8, gearbox destoyed on that run too.
Hoping to crack into the 10's at the nationals, if it's ready in time.
Thanks for the comments about the car too.
As soon as i've got the car back, WILL post up pics of car, engine.Should be late this week.

rajabs,sub-zero,bresciani bros & pretty sure JPC are entering.Jpc is the only one i'm not 100% sure on tho.

AERWLK, business name of the guy with the 350 Gemi is, BTR from memory.
Like you said, good bloke, quality work, and very good prices to match. He's from Queenstown, near Port Adelaide.

Jaytee, His name is Leroy. Ph:0438.327.510

Hopefully we can all meet up for a chat at the Nationals.Be good to put a name to a face!!

I will be there for sure (spectating).. Never missed one of these events ever since they started, and my has it grown. Its a pity tho that they are not having a super cruise the night before like they used to, it was awesome seeing 1000+ cars cruising together. I am lucky, its my birthday on the 14th, its valentines day and my missus loves the drags... what more can a man want? hehe

If you want to see what big name entrants have entered the nationals, head on over to www.boostinoz.com which has a list of them. I think I saw JPC and Bresciani are entering.

I cant understand why the organisers of Drag Combat decided to have their event on the same day as the Nationals. Its happened last year but with a different event organised by PAC, which always used to come over for the Nationals (it wasnt known as the nationals back then) but I havent seen any PAC car in Adelaide for quite a while.
